skysprite 0 #2 February 11, 2004 Asherons Call I played off an on since beta, but quit about a year ago. I'm tempted to go back every once in a while, but then I realize how much work I put into my two characters (that I deleted when I left) and don't want to do that again. ~skysprite
tunaplanet 0 #3 February 11, 2004 MMORPGs are VERY addicting. I was hooked on DAoC. Forty-two
skysprite 0 #4 February 11, 2004 QuoteMMORPGs are VERY addicting. I was hooked on DAoC. That's the other reason why I won't go back. I want to pass my classes this semester. A couple of friends are trying to get me to try ShadowBane. I have it, I just haven't installed it yet to try it out.~skysprite
FallingILweenie 0 #5 February 11, 2004 as soon as i get broadband i wanna try planetside but i hate playing fps's on a computer..i like the console much better for those.
tunaplanet 0 #6 February 11, 2004 Planetside is a cross between a FPS and a MMORPG. I tried it but didn't like it at all. Just my opinion. Give it a shot. You may love it. And for the LOVE OF GOD do not play SWG. That game was absolutely freakin horrible. I played it all the way through beta and was shocked they released it so early. It was not ready. souleh 0 #7 February 11, 2004 Planetarion and Earth2025 were the two I played at school.. kinda got bored of the whole genre now though Probably cause I ended up writing one due to sheer mind numbing boredom in lectures, a spacey type one, was alright.. but after you've written a few thousand lines of code on the subject, the beauty starts to seep out of it. *shudder* 'buttplugs? where?' - geno

tunaplanet 0 #12 February 11, 2004 Yeah, once you get into MMORPGs, games like Neverwinter Nights just don't compare. It's hard to explain. I love MMORPGs. There's a few I'm looking forward to coming out this year. Forty-two
Glipazide 0 #13 February 11, 2004 Right here! Morgan Le Fay- 50 Theurgist R4L2 , 43 Infiltrator Merlin- 50 Zerker R3L9 Lancelot- 32 Animist. Sold all these for a grand total of $350.00 Im MLF i was in the guild Draconis Lumenis. Still miss that game Now im playing a non-MMORPG, Black Hawk Down and Battlefield 1942... this game doesn't consume my time... When I played DAoC, I was the kinda player that wouldn't get on and stay for a little while in a group and leave... I was there till the end.http://sexygirlabs.com/url]
tunaplanet 0 #14 February 11, 2004 Heh, I'm thinking of getting back into it. I'll probably hold out and wait for one of the cool ones coming out this year. Dragon Empires looks damn good. Forty-two

There's a few I'm looking forward to coming out this year. Neverwinter is a MMORPG its just not often played as such on the public servers which are mostly hack and slash...all the roleplay takes place on private servers, custom levels that dont repeat again and again and again....____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. tunaplanet 0 #17 February 11, 2004 Heh, I had a lvl 50 inf on Albion. RR7. Bounced around from guild to guild. Also had some others. Scouts, and one necro. Necros rocked for PL! Forty-two
tunaplanet 0 #18 February 11, 2004 Neverwinter Nights is not considered an MMORPG. Forty-two
Zenister 0 #19 February 11, 2004 really? i suppose servers with 200+ players arent "massive" enough for you? its just not pay per play.. Massive Multiplayer Online Roleplaying Game which part of the acronym doesnt fit...dont buy the hype...they only want your money for the original game and expansions where you go from there is only limited by the imagination of the players, not the corporation controlling your gaming experience..____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. Planetside isnt so much about your actual connection speeds. Granted Broadband will help. Playing Planetside is more about having over a gig of ram, 3+ gig processor, and a shnazzy video card. If you got all that you'll have a smooth ride. If not it may turn into a slide show during the larger battles (200+ people)_________________________________________ "People demand freedom of speech to make up for the freedom of thought which they avoid." - Kierkegaard

TheRus 0 #23 February 11, 2004 I play DAoC... Lvl 50 Pally on Gaheris (plus several other toons in all realms) Hibs on Gawaine (Gemsong - Luri NS 34 - GM of Black Label Society) and Merlin Albs on Bors (used to be on Lance, but left server forever)... Mids on Galahad and Iseult. Yeah, it's fine, we'll walk down the line. Skypup 0 #24 February 11, 2004 I'm happy to say that after playing EQ for years I was able to leave my beloved test server. Unfortunatly I got sucked into DAoC. I loved that game, it was just unfortunate because I spent even more time playing that than i did EQ. Damn that frontier. Now all I play is Counterstrike and Americas Army. Finally my game time is not overwhelming. I never want to go back, it's so nice to have a life outside the games. I highly recomend getting away from MMORPG's, real life is better.T.S.S # 5 ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ To dream great dreams is itself an act of daring. -Eric Shipton & Bill Tilman ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
RevJim 0 #25 February 11, 2004 I tried a couple of them, and found they just were not my style. I'm a FPS guy, through and through. Q2, Q3A, UT, and UT2003 for me. I play a little BF1942 at my buddies house, but my home 'puter isn't strong enough for it, yet....It's your life, live it!
