flygirl03 0 #26 February 5, 2004 Elevation?? High, higher than the sun You shoot me from a gun I need you to elevate me here, At the corner of your lips As the orbit of your hips Eclipse, you elevate my soul I've lost all self-control Been living like a mole Now going down, excavation I and I in the sky You make me feel like I can fly So high, elevation A star lit up like a cigar Strung out like a guitar Maybe you could educate my mind Explain all these controls I can't sing but I've got soul The goal is elevation A mole, living in a hole Digging up my soul Going down, excavation I and I in the sky You make me feel like I can fly So high, elevation Love, lift me out of these blues Won't you tell me something true I believe in you A mole, living in a hole Digging up my soul Going down, excavation I and I in the sky You make me feel like I can fly So high, elevation Elevation... Elevation... Elevation... Elevation... Elevation... Elevation... ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ earthbound misfit
MikeJD 0 #27 February 5, 2004 I did my AFF course in Sep 1992 and Jon Secada's 'Just Another Day' was always on the radio at that time. A bit sappy really, not particularly my kind of music and nothing to do with jumping - but it never fails to take me straight back there! This amazing new experience, these fantastic new friends, and the whole dropzone vibe. It all comes back in a rush when I hear that song.

Vallerina 2 #29 February 5, 2004 "Back to the Earth" by Rusted Root. A few lyrics from it: Quote Ah, back to the earth, I screamed and And no one listened to me Back to the earth I lived and they all follow Quote Well, come on, come on see my world, Won’t you fly, high Quote back to the earth, I feel it. Back to the earth, I’m fallin’. Quote Many divisions of you Many divisions of me when we are so young. Then they start singing "Free my soul" a whole bunch. I love Rusted Root! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning

weegegirl 2 #32 February 5, 2004 The music I used for the video of my first tandem, and it still brings me back to that first jump feeling every time I hear it.... Led Zeppelin - Kashmir (Bonham/Jones/Page/Plant) Oh let the sun beat down upon my face, stars to fill my dream I am a traveler of both time and space, to be where I have been To sit with elders of the gentle race, this world has seldom seen They talk of days for which they sit and wait and all will be revealed Talk and song from tongues of lilting grace, whose sounds caress my ear But not a word I heard could I relate, the story was quite clear Oh, oh. Oh, I been flying... mama, there ain't no denyin' I've been flying, ain't no denyin', no denyin' All I see turns to brown, as the sun burns the ground And my eyes fill with sand, as I scan this wasted land Trying to find, trying to find where I've been. Oh, pilot of the storm who leaves no trace, like thoughts inside a dream Heed the path that led me to that place, yellow desert stream My Shangri-La beneath the summer moon, I will return again Sure as the dust that floats high and true, when movin' through Kashmir. Oh, father of the four winds, fill my sails, across the sea of years With no provision but an open face, along the straits of fear Ohh. When I'm on, when I'm on my way, yeah When I see, when I see the way, you stay-yeah Ooh, yeah-yeah, ooh, yeah-yeah, when I'm down... Ooh, yeah-yeah, ooh, yeah-yeah, well I'm down, so down Ooh, my baby, oooh, my baby, let me take you there Let me take you there. Let me take you there
HRHSkyPrincess 0 #33 February 5, 2004 Beethoven's Ode to Joy chorus probably describes the first tandem feeling although I brought an Enya cd to be dubbed in...it turned out pretty cool. The video guy (Bryan) rolled his eyes like 'oh, no, not one of those types', but he created a fantastic video for me anyway! (Kisses, Mr. M).***************** Attitude is everything! weegegirl 2 #34 February 5, 2004 Quote Elevation?? High, higher than the sun You shoot me from a gun... Yeah, I'm one of those "tandem video editors" and that's one of the songs we like to use for our videos. It's really really really good like the first 10,000 times you hear it. Even reading the lyrics right now makes me want to hurl!
SkydivingNurse 0 #35 February 5, 2004 Greg shot the vid. I'm trying to figure out how to get the video tape made into something more computer friendly so that I can share it with everyone here.
kris12 0 #36 February 5, 2004 Not my first skydive, but my first videoed skydive (AFF graduation jump). "Toxicity" by System of a Down. The beginning of the song leads up perfectly to my diving exit from the Skyvan. For the longest time afterward, I would get chills whenever I heard the song. Now Coldplay's "Clocks" reminds of skydiving, because I saw it on the Puerto Rico 2003 Boogie video. It just fit and was really cool. Okay, I am a big dork. kristen swooo #3 MB #3587 P.M.S. #66 "so let go, jump in...what're you waiting for? it's all right 'cause there's beauty in the breakdown"
