BoostedXT 0 #1 January 30, 2004 OK....we all travel to the DZ from places far away, but what is the most miles you have ever driven in one day? I just drove 1257 miles in 18 hours and some change. Thats a long time to sit and listen to the radio and drive. Driving makes you sleepy. Anyone? Snowwhite 0 #7 January 30, 2004 Miami to upper Illinois 25 hours. I do Illinois to Orlando kinda regularly, 19-20 hours. When Dave was living in South Carolina, I would drive Illinois to South Carolina about once a month 15 hours, spend 2 days and drive home. Thanksgiving 2002, drove Illinois to South Carolina on Tues/Wed, and South Carolina to Illinois on Wed/Thurs, fed 42 people Thanksgiving dinner at my house then drove Illinois to South Carolina Fri/Sat and South Carolina to Illinois Sun/mon. My knees were shaky by the time I got done with that weekend.skydiveTaylorville.org freefallbeth@yahoo.com

skybytch 273 #11 January 30, 2004 Left from Sebastian, FL. Arrived at Skydive Chicago almost exactly 24 hours later (that includes five hours sleep at a rest stop). Then after a few hours relaxing I drove 2 1/2 more hours to get where I was going. Total of about 1400 miles in about 23 hours of driving time. I like long drives. Perky77 0 #12 January 30, 2004 Longest - South of Houston, Tx to Big Timber, Mt. 27 1/2 hrs. almost 2000 miles. Nonstop and I drove all but 4 hrs, and I actually slept 30 minutes. Hardest - Jackson, Mississippi to Memphis, Tn to Claremore, Oklahoma to Poplar Bluff, Mo. - Left Jackson at 11:00pm arrived in Poplar Bluff at 3 pm the next day, alone, all that after 11 days of 3 hrs sleep per day average. That sucked. Most recent - Baton Rouge, La to College Station, Tx to Eloy, about 22 hrs but I didnt drive all of it. "Sacrifice is a part of life. It is supposed to be. Aviatrr 0 #22 January 30, 2004 I drove from Los Angeles to Roanoke, VA(about 2450 miles) in 40 hours. Didn't stop for anything but gas and food for the first 28 hours or so, then stopped and slept for about 2 hours, and finished the drive. 40 hours was departure to arrival - so about 35-36 hours of driving. Mike Edit to add: I'll be doing a 2550 mile trip in a bit over a week...in an RV. Fun, fun, fun..
CanuckInUSA 0 #23 January 30, 2004 I've made some long drives in the last six years. But I believe my single day best is driving from Boulder Colorado up Sweetgrass Montana (the Alberta/Montana border) and then back down to Billings Montana where I stayed a few hours in a cheap motel before completing the trip back to Boulder.
