Bill Clinton did one good thing... He left a huge surplus instead of a defecit... good for him. Apparently you know nothing of the military because Clinton fucked it up more than Reagan and Carter put together so for you to support him just shows that you clearly dont have any facts to base this argument on...
As for the "People who call assholes are assholes" comment... its a good way to try to take a cheap shot when you have nothing to contribute... at least Benny tries to make points and i wouldnt want you to be on my side in any argument Gravity because you seem to discredit any worthwhile argument Benny had. Benny I looked at both sites and both were very interesting and made very poignant facts. But i think its gravitys turn to go watch CNN and/or FNN.

It was over.. the Soviet Union fell apart.. so I guess we needed to keep a bloated military budget to fight.......oh yeah.. aliens...
Get a grip... After the Gulf War they started to downsize the military. Just like after Vietnam, there were so many officers in the USAF.. who were near retirement... so they made them NCO's instead of letting them go be civilians it was called RIF Reduction in Force.... and then allowed them to retire at their highest rank... I remember a LOT of conservatives that were pissing all over themselves at the time with this waste of tax dollars. So obviously you do not have the facts.. REgan was responsible for a HUGE military spending binge that broke the Soviet Union.. CArter inherited a Military that had been racked with the worse morale in US history after Vietnam and from 1968 to 1976 was ruined by Nixon then Ford.
I do not think we would ever have even committed troops to Vietnam if Kennedy had lived.. he certainly did not want to go there.... if it had not been for a good little Republican named Robert McNamara and his ties to Defense Industries... but hey.. we had lots of new weapons that needed to be tested against all of the new Soviet Weapons.

A very simple example. The Cayman Islands dollar is tied to the US dollar. I earn in $CI. The war, heavy borrowing etc are weakening the currency and making me poorer although I have nothing to do with the US. Thats just a VERY simple example of why someone might care. So there is the economic factor.
There's also the fact that the US and others went to war without the UN and basically gave a lot of other nations the finger. I guess if the US can invade who they want when they want then people might start getting nervous.
Speaking for myself, I could NOT care less what the UN says or thinks of USA. I wish we were out.
