Who will you vote for President? Why?

If the other half got out and voted for their beliefs, we would see a major political revolution.

I don't think we need or should want a revolution. Revolution means unpredictability, and that means a worse economy.

I have no problem at all with people not voting. It means they are pretty happy the way things are, it seems to me.

Bush will win.:)
edit-Paige, we will have to talk more politics during ground time this year.
People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

There are a lot of months between now and November. I'm hoping I find someone to vote for, rather than only having someone to vote against. That means I get to listen to what they have to say, rather than making my mind up now

Good call Wendy, and I agree...I want to try and keep an open mind...there are choices. Just need to get past the superficial.:)

I've been watching more of Clark - and the guy scares me.

I agree. He's an egomaniac.

He's an egomaniac.

Honestly, how could anyone run for President if they didn't have at least a little of this quality?

They're all egomaniacs to a certain extent. Some come by it understandably from holding pretty high positions -- others are running complete ego campaigns. To me, Clark doesn't seem half as bad as others in this regard. To me, he seems about as honest and straightforward as you could possibly hope to get in a politician.

He already has my support and he'll have my vote in the primary. If he wins the nomination, he'll have my vote in November.

If you haven't seen it yet and are still wondering who this guy is or if the only information you've ever heard about him came from conservative talk radio, you might want to check out American Son.

Most of the media and polls are put out by the left.

The polling done by both sides is usually contrived and written with the intent of influencing opinion as opposed to measuring it. It's grotesque.

No believe it or not, I'm a pre-law major, stay up with current issues, and have taken classes (where there are libearls teaching) telling us that at least 85% of the major media corporations are owned and operated by liberals! Where do you get the idea that they are not? Do some research and I think you might be a little surprised!

I have a question for you -- what research have you actually done or are you simply taking the word of your class instructor?

I don't know where the 85% number comes from. Is that supposed to be all newspapers, radio, television and cable?

I mean, just look at Rupert Murdock and GE -- both pretty right wing and if you look at what they own it's far more than the less than 15% you've suggested is not controlled by the "left".

An interesting series of articles debunking the right-wing myths.

Quade - I watched a debate the other day where Clark pulled rank on Kerry. Then Clark tried to put a different spin on it twice over the next two days! I am tired of Clark always having to explain ad nauseum what he really means after he opens his mouth. And then when NBC Nightly News tries to point out how he is contradicting himself and Clark repremanded the reporter as if he was a child.

Had you quoted all of what I said, that would have come across. I said the exact same thing.

I will vote for Bush, for one reason and one reason only, between he, and the 9, 8, 7, or how many ever there are now, Dems running for the Office of President, Bush is the lesser of two evils! No other reason!

I like Clark.. I've seen him speak a few times.. He is veteraned, honest and very intelligent... He attained the rank of General for Gods sake.. I think Clark should be Pres and Colin Powell Vice Pres.. That would be a great combination..

Rhino - as a civillian, the General rank doesn't sway me, at all. No disrespect - but what he did on the battlefield is not the same for what he would need to do in Washington.

Oh, if anyone believes in the polls, Newsweek released one today saying Kerry is slightly in the lead in NH - 31%, with Dean at 29%. The third place spot is up for grabs between Edwards, Clark and Lieberman.

If the election were to happen today, the poll has Kerry winning by 4 points over Bush.

In 2000, I was riding the fence and ended up voting for Bush because of Gore's demeanor during the debates. Admittedly not the best of reasons. I wish I had looked closer now. Bush has not lived up to his promises in 2000 - most significantly, trying to build international concensus and being a more humble nation in international affairs. I'm also very concerned about the huge deficit he has created from the surplus he was left. I'm hoping I get to vote for a Kerry-Edwards ticket this time. I won't make the same mistake that I made in 2000.

Bush, if you think a dem. is going to win after the capture of Saddam, an upswing begining in the economy, and tax cuts, you may be in for a small shock.

A Newsweek poll places it a statistical dead heat with a slight edge to that Dem if it were to be decorated war hero John Kerry.

Look at your source and who funds it. Most of the media and polls are put out by the left.

Isn't it just amazing that those capitalists who own the media in the USA are all leftie pinko liberals?

I think you, as a student, should do your research more carefully.

becoming a general nowdays simply means you kept your nose clean, never tried (or never failed and got caught) anything risky, and are already a good politician.

I briefed Clark twice during OJE, he while certainly wasn’t a bad general (he asked rather specific questions, most don’t) but he didnt seem all that interested in the actual answers, he had already made his decisions before and wasn’t considering anything contrary at that point...:|

that personality type and attitude scares me from in any leadership position

i've met both (although i had more interaction with Clark) Powell at least seems to be a man who accepts he doesnt always have all the information needed to make the best decisions.
