What is the differance in cost and performance of a 170 Cobalt and a Comp Cobalt. Interesting that they make a Comp that size when I think the largest canopy on the PST is a 120

Longer recovery arc (not priority right now)
softer openings (THE big hairy deal issue for me right now).
I have to say that I love the Sabre2 also but, I got everything I want in one purchase and kept my old gear for cRW.
I'd have to say I'm happy with everything right now and that's saying alot due to the fact that I'm a major pessimist.
My pilot skills place me at having fun above 1,000 and taking it easy with straight in landings.
I love the flight and will wait a while for any "swooping thoughts".
I plan on taking some courses too.
Just because I bought it after a few demos does NOT make me "experienced". Variables will come and I will need to adapt rather than "whoa+bad reaction=statistic".

haha, that would be fun to jump, and not land though.

later

I don't think it would qualify as a "landing" if I just cratered in as if I were in freefall(in a stand, I guess).. I don't think I would even attempt to land a canopy I'd be loading at 10:1. I'd have just as much luck with that as with landing my pilot chute.

Hey, I met you at ZHills. :D

Sorry...

In related news. I know nothing, so this isn't me speaking.

But, from what I hear, isn't the Sabre2 pretty much as top-of-the-line as it gets as far as canopies go (that is for newer skydivers just starting out) ?

nah.... i've heard Safire2s and Pilots are better than SABRE 2s.... i'm sure its different for every person but for me Sabre 2s have openings that are too slow -- we're talking multiple end cell closure every time! :S

Cobalt/Comp does that too,...WOW I'll get to keep me lumbar after all! :)I got beat senseless in the past...gotta open soft now[:/]

I had a 220 Triathalon that's lines were streched to holy hell and would pound me. I had to stop for 3 days at WFFC2002 with welts like soft balls. (my balls were NOT soft..hard and scared=hiding:ph34r:)
ALL new lines and sweet ride! I kept it for cRW and sport accuracy.

Hey.....My Stiletto kept smacking me at the WFFC 02 as well. Must have had something to do with Illinois. :D Same here....lines were WAY shorter than they should have been. Whole new canopy after the line set was on. :S

I have a Triathalon 260...and yes I am a VERY big girl;););)

;)

Just giving him a lil' bit o' shite.

Soprt accuracy. On a 220. I was giggling. Sure, but I guess you could vary the approach on a parafoil and call it sport too.

:P
