I was wondering if anyone happens to have or know where a list of all the available wind tunnels are located. Contact info would be good too.

I've never seen an actual list, BUT: I'm guessing that we could come up with a pretty kickass list between everyone here. The only tunnel I've ever been to is SkyVenture in Orlando (www.skyventure.com).

There are 3 in the states.
1) Skyventure in Orlando
2) Flyaway in Las Vegas
3) Flyaway in Piegon Forge, TN
Military has a bunch of cool ones too.....

Yep, those are the only ones I have been able to find too. Never thought I would have a reason to go to Tennessee.

Well that's twice as good a reason as for going to Florida. Although there is the warm weather and beaches, that I suppose could play into that type of decision a little.

There's a handful of portable tunnels laying around.

Hell, there's one in Conroe, which is a little town just a bit outside of Houston. Not a bad tunnel, couldn't do 4-way...hell, couldn't even turn points doing 2 way, but its not bad for taking a problem student and training them to burn a hole, no turns, no movement. That sometimes helps.

Um do you guys not know about the one at Perris?

Skydive Elsinore also sells time for the Skyventure wind tunnel at Perris so...whatever floats your boat.

You couldn't turn points doing 2 way? I wonder WHY you couldn't do 2 way in that tunnel? If you will be a the WFFC, perhaps we can help you out with that. That's the biggest, fastest portable tunnel and the only one with lexan walls. We'll be renting it out by the 1/4 hour and 1/2 hour at the convention to qualified instructors for their students and for team practice. No we're bringin Adren-l-n, currently in Texas. If you mean Bob, as in greensburg Bob, the tunnel was moved from the DZ and sold in the past summer.

We've spoken with Don already so we're good to go... pm me and tell me what you need..we're working on artwork and press releases now...

too bad you were jumping last summer at that little cessna dz in Franklin, Greensburg had their wind tunnel all summer till it was sold and moved. You should checkout bodyflight.net for tunnel info. Also next summer you and several others at Jerry's should come on over and jump a turbine from time to time.
