lawrocket 3 #4 January 19, 2004 1981 Volkswagen Dasher Diesel. That thing had at least 186,000 miles on it when I got rid of it. I say "At least" because the odometer worked only sporadically after about 130k. It probably had closer to 240k on it. It was slow, ugly and loud. But, it served a useful purpose. kingbunky 3 #5 January 19, 2004 close! i had a 66 chev half ton, straight 6, 3 on the tree... loved that piece of crap! trailing arms cracked, welded and cracked again so it dogtracked down the road, big bald 16 inch tires in the snow, wooden box because the original rotted off... great truck! kai2k1 0 #6 January 19, 2004 1965 Mustang with a 289 bored .040. I loved that car till i realized how much tires were for it. Then I stopped doing burnouts. First one I bought on my own was a 1985 Mustang GT when I was stationed in Germany. That was a fun car to drive on the autobahn. kelel01 1 #7 January 19, 2004 A white 1989 Mercury Topaz with red interior and 130,000 miles on it. It had a radio in it, too. No tape player or CD player, but a radio. It was passed down to me from my dad, who had bought it used himself several years prior. Who says GA is filled with rednecks? Kelly

Bright blue house paint exterior - no back seat, no radio - and the pleasant hum of the catalytic converter dragging on the ground (when it finally died that is). What a fun car! jessd 0 #15 January 19, 2004 Mine was a 1985 Mercury Grand Marquis. It so huge. It was like driving my sofa down the road. It was my grandfather's old car that he had given me. I remember going with my grandparents the day they bought it too - I was so small that my legs stuck straight out when I sat on the back seat. BoostedXT 0 #20 January 19, 2004 First vehicle was a 1987 Pontiac Fiero. Maroon, 6cyl. After what I did in that car I am surprised I am not dead. 60+ high speed slides on offramps, onramp...anything that turned. When I get older and my son wants to go to advanced Rally schools I might think twice. First new car was a 1998 Subaru Impreza 2.5RS. 1 of 200 or so black/gold 5speeds in the USA. Put a bunch of money into that thing. AGX adjustable struts H&R Pro race springs Whiteline Strut bars and sway bars. Brembo Big brake kit up front Borla Gen III headers Stromung exhaust Pulleys Intake All controlled by a laptop/S-AFC. I could control the full management system of the car. It was loud, fast and handled like a Porsche. My new toy is a 2004 Subaru Forester XT Turbo. 2.5ltr Turbo 240HP. plans: DMS Gold coil over kit. Brembos all the way around. New Front Mount Intercooler Injectors Turbo Xs Up/down pipes and exhaust. ECU reflash ACT clutch 18x8.5 Volk TE-37s in Bronze and some Sti goodies from japan for the outside. Est HP. 390HP...0-60 in mid 4's and high 12's or so in the 1/4. All from a grocery getter. Wow sorry I went on a tangent. wmw999 2,445 #21 January 19, 2004 1963 Ford Falcon station wagon. Paid $150 cash for it. Got the cash (it was Saturday) by going through grocery store cash-a-check lines (this was WAY before ATMs). Complete piece of junk. Bad front end, lots-o-rust damage, torn seats, no brakes when wet. The white paint washed off the one time I tried washing it. Proved to me that a wind chime hung from the dome light is not better than nothing. But it got me to work for 6 months, and kept most of the rain out.
