This is So. Cal, dude. . .the ONLY way to get from point A to point B is with a car. . .

If you already have the car issue covered, then head on out. . .It could take up to two hours by car from Marina Del Rey, depending on the traffic. . .

If you don't have the car thing covered, well then, that is another matter. . .

Best way to get from Marina Del Rey to Perris.

Sepulveda south to the 105 Freeway
105 freeway East to the 605 Freeway South
605 South to the 91 East (stay on 91 for a LONG time)
91 East to the 215 South
215 South, exit D street
Take D street south til it dead ends,
turn left on 11th street (turns into Case Rd.)
Turn Right on Goetz Road.
Perris Valley will be on your left.

oh... if you don't have the car thing covered:

Take the bus from LAX to the green line.
Take the greenline East to Norwalk.
Take the bus from the green line to the metrolink station.

Catch the 91 line Metrolink train (will say "Riverside" on it.)
Get off the train at the West Corona station.
Call me to come get you and take you to Perris.

See ya this weekend! I will be in the tunnel from 3:30 till 4:00 on Saturday. Have fun and be safe! If you don't have a car you can call manifest and ask for a way to get ahold of Kim White. She shuttles folks bac and forth form the DZ to LAX all the time. She might help you out. SHe is kinda pricey though. The problem with Perris is that there is no real good way to get ther unless you have wheels. Manifest number is 909 657-3904

Ok, Kris, I was just starting a response to your first note/directions....

And I saw your second.

You are, absolutely, without a doubt, the shiznit.

I need to check on rental car rates, if they are ridiculous (lol, most things are, I'm cheapin it lately!), then I'll take your bus/metrolink directions and call!

If they aren't bad, I'll take the driving directions and drive on out.

On either note, you kick butt. Thanks so much for providing exactly what I was looking for.

:)

I'll pm you my cell stuff, if you want to pm me yours cool... Either way, I'm plannin on being in that neck of the woods by 6 (leaving betwen 3/4 here? is that enough time?) and I sure would like to meet you Kris.

THANK YOU!!!!!!!

Peace

you have two options, trainwise, from norwalk.

a 4:41, and a 5:46. I ride the 4:41 myself.

You pick up the "Green Line Shuttle" at LAX. There is also a green line station at the corner of Nash St. and El Segundo Bl, if you prefer, but the shuttle is easier. Take the shuttle to the Aviation Street Green Line station. Get on the green line. Take the green line to the 605/105 stop (end of the line) and take the "Metrolink Shuttle" to the Norwalk metrolink station. Take either the 4:41 or the 5:46 metrolink train. Do not take the train that shows up between those two times. It goes to Irvine, and I don't want to drive down there to go get you! LOL. Get off the train in West Corona, which is about a mile from where I live. I'll give you a lift the remaining 40 miles to Perris.

Taking the green line and shuttles will take time. Sometimes they all show up right away and it takes 30 minutes from LAX to Norwalk. Other times, it can take two hours. Public transportation here is not nearly as reliable as it is elsewhere. Give yourself plenty of time and bring a good book.

Oh Totally!!!

I'm in IT and I hate it when people do stupid things, but I have to tell you, I've been clicking those cam links solid for days!

I can't remember in the last twenty years that I've been so excited. Skydiving truly, truly rocks.

The experience, the people, damn. Just wow.

Do what I did on my last trip to LA. Fly into LAX. Have sister pick me up from Embassy Suites and drive to Hawthorne Field. Meet her boyfriend who owns a nice 4 place plane. Take a 30 minute flight to Perris. B| Beats the crap out of the rental car option!

Ok Kris, two things, first, with your incredible directions, unless I find a really cheap car, I'll prolly wing it and follow your route!!!!

Secondly? Between yourself and Rosa (aka VanillaSkyGirl), I'm so, so jazzed to be here.

I'll shout tomorrow afternoon and let you know what my route is, I'm still 50%/50%, as an only child, I hate relying on public stuff, want my car, etc...etc...

However, as someone that is trying to economize, I may do the train.

Either way? You so completely rock, you've saved me tons of searching the net, phone calls, and everything else associated.

Much Peace and Love to your House,

Jack

This is kinda like drug runnin don't you think?

The "Right Price"?

Ya just never know right?

lol

I'm so square now days you could park two cars in my garage, but seriously? The right price?

Hmmm, get a private ride to Perris Valley?

PM me, the right price may happen, now, of course? If the right price costs more than my ticket to CA?

Well, I'm big dumb fat and happy, but I'm not stupid....
