As long as your back ground is clean, haven't traveled to the Axis of evil, name wasn't mentioned by bad people in conversations that were monitored, Name wasn't contained in documents captured from bad people. Than you got a chance of not having a problem. But there have been rare cases of mistaken Identity. Not sure about specific's requirements of fingerprinting foreigners upon arrival in the US. Or any of that other stuff. But if your clean you should still be OK. The euro is very stong now against the Dollar so a trip to the US should be less expensive this year. If your a bad person or do something considered a threat, I don't think you will to need pay a lawyer to help you. Because you may not have access to one. It is best, however, if bringing a rig, to have proper papers for it. Otherwise just rent from one of the dropzones. . .most of them have some cool rental gear or demo stuff. Im planning on making as trip home to sunny Gloucesterhsire (from North Carolina) soon and am so relieved that I have a green card and can go through the US citizens line. Needless to say, its gonna suck for my brother if he decides he wants to come and surf at my place for the summer :( My advice is to thoroughly resarch what you need and make the trip, the exchange rate is favourable right now and the skydiving is a whole lot easier. Gear is cheaper here too.
