fudd 0 #1 January 22, 2004 What's up with "The Domestic Security Enhancement Act of 2003" Quote The legislation would allow the Justice Department to "detain" anyone secretly indefinitely, at least until an indictment is secured against the person. It would make it a crime to reveal the identity — or even existance — of such a detainee. The legislation would also allow the government to take away an American citizen's citizenship if they joined a "terrorist" organization — or even supported a terrorist organization! Is this true??? I know my source may be biased. I'd like to see some counter arguments to this. If GWB wins the elections and this is true, I will think twice before visiting the US. slug 1 #2 January 22, 2004 QuoteWhat's up with "The Domestic Security Enhancement Act of 2003" Depends on who you talk to. IMO After 9/11 lots of things happened. As long as your back ground is clean, haven't traveled to the Axis of evil, name wasn't mentioned by bad people in conversations that were monitored, Name wasn't contained in documents captured from bad people. Than you got a chance of not having a problem. But there have been rare cases of mistaken Identity. Not sure about specific's requirements of fingerprinting foreigners upon arrival in the US. Or any of that other stuff. But if your clean you should still be OK. The euro is very stong now against the Dollar so a trip to the US should be less expensive this year. If your a bad person or do something considered a threat, I don't think you will to need pay a lawyer to help you. Because you may not have access to one. Some people like the new rules it makes them feel safer. If you don't hear from me again, don't ask. (joke) R.I.P.
