KawiZX900 0 #76 January 20, 2004 Dui. SR-22 insurance, wrecked a motorcycle, founded my own buisness, (which is a big RED spike in the proverbial hole) good news is that being a 100 jump wonder I may be flying a canopy for a clothing company outta San Diego. So things are changing for "the kid" here shortly.. Ohh yeah, benn busy working on the GRAMMY'S and a couple of other underground projects that command my attention and tlc to get me where I need to be. I do get to have some pretty good deli sandwhiches with some rad people though.... some times being right does not = B lining fun.... sometimes it does. Accelerate hard to get them looking, then slam on the fronts and rollright beside the car, hanging the back wheel at eye level for a few seconds. Ron 10 #80 January 20, 2004 Quote No kidding. Ron has become quite fun lately. Whats up with that? Maybe you all have come around to my way of thinking? It COULD be that I am frankly getting burned out on skydiving. 10 years of Politics, big egos, watching people die/get hurt, 100 jumps wonders not listening...I have almost given up on trying to keep people safe. And the simple fact is after 3,000 jumps it does not hold the same excitment it used to. I tried to come on here and be the "Voice of Reason". I tried to be the one person that tries to get people to think about the choices they make. And to think about the cost of their actions. It's cool to act devil may care, to look the part of a Daredevil.....Most think its uncool to act and look safe. More people today think more about the colors of their gear than the saftey and function of it. And most would rather buy cool toys to make up for lack of training and drilling. But they still think they are safe since they bought the cool toys. Being the "Saftey Nazi" means not just letting people do stupid things cause they want to. And that also means getting people pissed at me since I call them on it. Maybe I have given up on it.....Maybe not, Im not sure yet. But since Im bored at work I am on these addictive forums. So I have quit being so much a Saftey Nazi, and now I have started to gain acceptance....Funny huh? Its easy to be popular when you don't challenge people to think. And the simple fact is most people who know me in real life know Im not like this all the time. I still preach saftey, but I also have a life. On the forums I just preached saftey, since there was a lack of it, and plenty of talkback without me. But it could just be I'm getting laid more...Your call."No free man shall ever be debarred the use of arms." -- Thomas Jefferson, Thomas Jefferson Papers,
meatmissile 0 #81 January 20, 2004 I live far from the nearest DZ, and it only has a cessna. You can get one, maybe two jumps a day if you only have one rig. That will change, I will have more rigs, and will move close to a big DZ. -- ZZZzzzz....

skylord 1 #88 January 22, 2004 Angela, I've got 7 jumps since Nov. 30th. The reasons I don't have more, quite frankly, is that it takes a lot out of me to jump. I tried to do multiple jumps but it screwed me up on my second jump of the day. I felt tired, overwhelmed, and I bombed AFF-6. I felt more tense going out the door on the second jump of the day, contrary to much of the advice I'd received. That is just me. I need to jump, process the info, and ramp up to the next jump over a period of 24 hours. I'm sure that will change as I move on in AFF, but that is where I am personally at. Other than that, I LOVE skydiving. I just need to move at my own pace, which no one can criticize or adjust. I am comfortable with that. Pammi 0 #89 January 22, 2004 Money, like a lot of people. Relocating after Merrick was out-of-work for so long ate up all of our savings and getting back to where we were financially is just not happening right now with him not working IT anymore. That's something I've thought about too, Andrea, that I would hate to have the kids see me get hurt (or I hate to say it, worse). Merrick and I being down to one rig is actually a good thing for right now. We take turns jumping so we're not on the same plane, and we're lucky enough to have the other down there if something were to happen. Plus one of us can entertain the kids playing board games and such with them. 'It does prohibit staying long after the beer light's on tho. I think even after we get me another rig eventually we'll still probably not jump together often because of the risks if the plane went down. It'd not be worth it.
