I shudder to think what condition our country and world politics would be in if Gore had been in the office through the events of recent yearsz
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Why? Do you really think his reaction to the 9/11 events would have been that different?

YES! I think his reaction would have been different.

I think he likely would have gathered a large conference at the UN, so that everyone could hold hands, sing 'Koombaya', and decide on what kind of humanitarian aid to provide to Afghanistan so that the population there wouldn't be so mad at us.
People are sick and tired of being told that ordinary and decent people are fed up in this country with being sick and tired. I’m certainly not, and I’m sick and tired of being told that I am

Since Bush has taken office: The economy has gotten worse.

not according to leading economist -- it was down turned in the latter Clinton years. 911 changed a lot, but it is on the rebound ~ EXACTLY!!!

The job market has gone from the best its been in 40 years to the worst its been in 25.

That depends on WHAT your market is and WHERE it is ~ This is ALWAYS going to be the case*

We have been PROVOKING a war in Iraq.

if what we did to Iraq was PROVOKING war, I'd hate to see what happens when we actually declare it! ~ No Kidding, LOL!

He has neglected the health care and educational efforts of his predacessors.

Yeah, let's give it back to Hillary and the democtrats, it was sooooo much better then! ~ LOL....this is funny***

thank you for your post steve! i couldn't have said it better myself*

and to who may reply to me---- send me a PM instead ~ i would love to chat with you! 'k'

I don't really care who's in office anymore. I just want my friends home safe.

Then I think you really have to choose the person you think will do that.

The person in the Oval office does matter when it comes to this.

Take a hard look at all the candidates and their experience in resolving international issues. Actions, not promises.

Who has it good in th USA.
Who does the politicians serve?
I'll tell you who: The big corporations and the rich people.
Seriously. I'm amazed how they are allowed to rule the way they do.
The rich is getting richer and the poor is getting poorer. Even in bad times.

Get some real and decent people into your the goverment. Can anyone who is not a millionare (or billionare) be elected in the US. I doubt it.
I do not think the USA is a democracy. It's more democrazy, money is the only thing that rules.
Democrats and republicans are not that far apart.
You have a right to vote in the US (unless it taken away from you for some reason...), but do you really have a CHOICE?

Honostly I don't think either Bush or Gore gives a shit about how you're doing. Unless ofcourse you have power or money.

There are only 10 types of people in the world. Those who understand binary, and those who don't.

Dude, you don't even live here, what makes you think you know anything about the USA? You must have been brainwashed by the European media. Either that or the cold weather up there has frozen your brain, because your statements are utterly ridiculous. I'm a regular middle class guy and I got it good in the USA, okay? And there's plenty more like me. No corporation rules me, I rule me. And guess what - I used to be poor, now I'm middle class, no thanks to government programs either. Hell, my mom was a fuckin' sharecropper when she was a kid. You need to wake up and stop your blind and unfounded hatred of a country that you obviously know very little about.

Actually, I'd think the main reason it might be different from the rest of the US is because skydivers are a highly specialized minority of the population, US or world

Actually we're not. You just might think we're special. I don't think we are that different.

Chris, I think you are special:P

National Debt at all time record high of $7.012 TRILLION dollars on 1/16/04

The estimated population of the United States is 293,047,800
so each citizen's share of this debt is $23,930.13.

The National Debt has continued to increase an average of $2.12 Billion per day since September 30, 2003!

You feel better off because GWB's policy is to borrow from your children and grandchildren without your being aware of it.

National Debt increased by $18B from 1999-2000, and by $550B from 2002-2003

That means that under GWB's watch, it is increasing some 30 times FASTER than it was at the end of the previous administration. "Borrow and Spend".

You may think it's all humor; I don't think that it's a joke.

True--- it has increased, but do you think GWB wanted a terrorist attack on the WTC & the pentagon while he is in office ~ hmmmmm, i don't think so*

and i sincerely meant the "ALL Humor-thing" in regards to what i said about the "dz.com-president-thing"....that is why i posted it right after my statement. there is no need to be upset on dz.com--- now if we were members of congress... then i agree...there is no-humor*

i would have sent you a PM...but you can't receive them ~ so many apologies if i addressed it on the open-forum--- i meant to joke between you and me* it's okay kallend~ i anger at many issues too, but i try not to stress about it ~ it only makes it worse :P

:D :D benny: You are Funny! :D :D and to answer your question with a question ~ how did you know? :) :P

...this statement just kills me...not anything at all against you, Quade...I mean the way our politics are run...if the system was pure dear people, it wouldn't matter WHO was in that seat because they are ultimately the voice of the people. The voice of the people is not different because of who is in that coveted role; it is just interpreted and acted upon differently because of that individual's underlying goals and objectives. That's too bad.

So I agree with you Quade; we have to vote for the candidate that we feel will best represent us. It's just unfortunate that we don't have a more 'pure' system, however I am not naive enough to believe that we could.

No, that's not right.

We vote for people that represent us, but that does not mean that everything they do is the voice of the people.

In fact, we (you and I) don't actually directly vote any President in office anyway. That's the job of the electoral college. But I digress.

If you don't think it matters who is in the Oval office, then all you have to do is study the Iranian hostage situation. Carter couldn't get -any- co-operation from the government of Iran, but within hours of Reagan taking office the hostages were released. This had less to do with Reagan's Presidency and more to do with middle-eastern pride and hatred for Carter, but the fact remains, when we changed Presidents, things turned around almost instanty.

I believe history -could- repeat itself in this respect if the proper candidate were choosen to replace President Bush solely on that basis alone, but in any case there is at least one candidate out there that does have a proven track record of resolving international issues.

I believe that if you really care about bringing our troops home as quickly are safely possible, then you should look at all the candidates and decide for yourself who the best person for the job is.

The quickest and safest way possible would be an immediate pull-out. We could just turn tail and run. Is that what you mean?
