downwardspiral 0 #76 January 19, 2004 Quote Quote to kill terrorists? huh? i did phrase it in the form of a question. ok fine? how the fuck else are we going to kill terrorists alex?!?!?! Terrorist are like the mythological beast known as the Hydra. Chop off the head and you may have won temporarily, but two or three grow back in its place. The only real and long term way to control the terrorism in the world is to give them fewer reasons to hate us. I'm not sure that's what we've accomplished in Iraq. well i was really trying to be sarcastic. i don't really believe we are there to kill terrorists(although it does happen to be a bonus). simply put, i couldn't post my compliments to michele about her post alone. however, i believe we are there to have an occupation in the middle east. a more cynical way to put it would be to say "oil, money and power." lets face it, 10 years after we've handed iraq back to the iraqis, we will still be occupying iraq.www.FourWheelerHB.com

caress 0 #89 January 19, 2004 Benny, I believe we invaded Iraq because the commander and chief said so. He believed there was a good chance wmd were there and he said that Saddam could use them against us, and he could also give them to Osama for a big attack. So with that in mind I would say because we were told to by the president and soldiers are sworn to uphold the commands of the president. Nobody asked my fucking permission about a damn thing that has gone on over the past year and 1/2. Has things gotten better for me since Bush came into office? FUCK NO Am I going to vote for him in the upcoming election?-FUCK NO. Am I glad Saddam is no longer hurting other people?-YES I am happy with the results of the invasion, just feel that it could have been done without so much loss and casualties. Jesus, we are still losing people and taking casualties. I am not happy with George.-Caress I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being right. Kramer 0 #91 January 19, 2004 I think everyone in here bashing on George is bashing on George because they had made up their mind about him before he ever took office, simply because of his political party. Much in the same way, I made up my mind to agree with everything he does (not literally, but you see what I mean), simply because I am a Republican. If there was a Democrat in office doing the exact same shit that George is doing, I would be in an uprage, and all you George-bashers would be explaining to me why it was necessary to disarm Saddam. It's all partisan bullshit if you ask me. -Kramer The FAKE KRAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAMER!!!!!!!!!

A wise observation. Note that had Gore been elected three years ago, we would likely have been in Iraq even earlier; he was one of the biggest hawks in the Clinton administration. It would be interesting to see how republicans (and democrats) reacted to that.
benny 0 #93 January 19, 2004 Actually, even though I was only 12 at the time, I really supported Gulf War I, even though at that time I was already a self-avowed Democrat. I think things like wars transcend party boundaries. I know plenty of good dems who think it was right to invade Iraq, I happen to disagree. I would have disagreed had Gore done it as well. I was however a wholehearted support of the notion of backing Iraqis opposed to Saddam. Never go to a DZ strip show.

billvon 3,073 #97 January 19, 2004 >Right, I should've been listening to Clinton News Network CNN Actually, it would help you to avoid the common misperceptions about the war, like we actually found WMD's in Iraq. From a study of the media's influence on opinions on the war : The extent of Americans’ misperceptions vary significantly depending on their source of news. Those who receive most of their news from Fox News are more likely than average to have misperceptions. Those who receive most of their news from NPR or PBS are less likely to have misperceptions. These variations cannot simply be explained as a result of differences in the demographic characteristics of each audience, because these variations can also be found when comparing the demographic subgroups of each audience. FREQUENCY OF MISPERCEPTIONS FOX 80% CBS 71% ABC 61% NBC 55% CNN 55% Print media 47% NPR 23%

caress 0 #99 January 20, 2004 Kramer, I said that I do not like george, I also said I would not vote for him. I don't like very many Presidents the U.S. has had. It isn't bashing, Its honesty. I agree, any president we had probly would have done along the same lines of stuff that george has done, does not mean I have to like it or agree with it. Don't take george trashing so personal, besides that was not my intention.-Caress SO FIESTY!!! I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being right. Haha...dude, I don't take it personally, hell...I'm not even that big of a fan of the guy. I was just replying your post to simply state my beliefs that everyone's view of the war is strongly based on their political affiliation, and hardly based on their actual beliefs of what should be done.
