Rantoul Lawsuit Update

Recommended Posts

According to the Rantoul Press (this weeks edition), the lawsuit involving the jumper killed by the Helicopter has been dismissed.

They also had a bit in there about a possible 5 year contract for the WFFC to be in Rantoul. The only kicker was a possible added $10 fee to help pay for police, water, electricity for the event.

Where exactly in Rantoul is the DZ? When I was in the AF, my first technical school was at Chanute.

Oh, now SEE? I've GOT to plan a trip to visit that DZ! Should bring back memories of my very first 80 degrees below zero (with wind chill) winter ever! B|

I'm confused. I've never been to that event, so I assumed the full time DZ was there. Okay then, I'll just have to see about going to the WFFC. B|

McD, go to WFFC's site and poke around, especially the maps. T'aint no regular full time dz looks like that.:(

Faster horses, younger women, older whiskey, more money.

Why do they call it "Tourist Season" if we can't shoot them?

Excuse me, did I say you could talk?

Not to hijack this thread. Great news on the lawsuit information. There were way too many of my friends mentioned in the suit that had nothing to do with the accident. Note: I said "accident". That's what it was, and it's sad that we lost a brother.

Pretty sure that it was. I thought that the settlement was in the amount of $50,000. Maybe I dreamt that though, but I'm pretty sure it's here on the site.

I would like to know for sure? Was it settled or dismissed?

Neither. The father has decided to hold off for now. I don't know the legal terms for that.

As for the increase for the registration, think about what that all covers. Trash cans, toilets, (and some one to come out and clean them) showers (they are in the process of building some) bands every night, beer, (which I don't drink) electricity, tents, (what about he cost of setting those up and taking them down?) I'm sure there's a lot more that I can add to the list, but it's late and I'm off to bed.
