flyinghonu 0 #2 January 16, 2004 Don't have kids but I've done all my jump (only 6 ) except 1 w/ my dad. I was actually kinda' freaked to do a jump w/o him. On the last jump I did w/ him, I told him I was going to go for my A. He's definately proud and happy that I've chosen the sky as well (he's a pilot). He even sends me a few bones ($$$) to help w/ the cost. "Excuse me while I kiss the sky..." - Jimi Hendrix
ChileRelleno 0 #3 January 16, 2004 I haven't jumped with mine being as he's only five but I've seen alot of others jump with their kids. I've seen that look you talking about. On the first jump its seemed to me be intense pride and excitement, most of them had waited along time for that jump with their kid. The ones that jump with their kids regularly, it seems to be a mix of pride and concern. Whatever it is, seeing that fire in their eyes is proof that we live more in one jump than some folks do in years! bobsled92 0 #6 January 17, 2004 My oldest daughter is 17 and wants to jump. I have had screaming nightmares that she went in and I was in no desire to pull. I'd say that my fear of doing anything that would result in harm to my child scares the crap out of my "Catholic guilt" ridden ass. If my son (will be 2yrs old on Jan. 20th) wants to jump one day, I will have the same fear until he's off A lic. Then I just have average parental concern. Tha main thing that I promised both daughters was: 100% new gear at C Lic. skygod7777 0 #7 January 17, 2004 i don't have kids (haha, i'm only 16). but i used to jump with my dad a lot. and when i was doing my first few jump alone, my dad did kinda have the look of fear in his eye. but once i got a little further on, it was just the fat dumb happy smile like he always has in freefall. but now, i don't jump with him too much, he doesn't freefly, so we go our separte ways when we get on the plane . all i have to do know is get him into swooping, and we can have a father son swooping team later
bobsled92 0 #8 January 17, 2004 I would like to have that in my life. I'm only 36 and my Dad is gone. I got into Bobsledding due to his 3 yrs and 1 Olympic team but, in 6yrs he came to see me compete one and I was replaced (my 1st year & World CUp) If any of my children want to do things with me or do what I do, I make it happen. Right now my girls change their hobbies quick. My 2yrs old son my not want jumping by the time he's of age. I'll stay flexible._______________________________ If I could be a Super Hero, I chose to be: "GRANT-A-CLAUS". and work 365 days a Year. http://www.hangout.no/speednews/
