It's "Possum Kingdom"
"...I'll not be a gentleman,Behind the boathouse,I'll show you my dark secret...I'm not gonna lie I want you for mine..."

I always thought that this song was about vampires. Something about staying beautiful and not aging. Reminds me of the character Kirsten Dunst played in "Interview with the Vampire." She stayed childlike until she was killed.

Pearl Jam - Black
Several songs from The Cure come to mind, including Pictures of You
Alanis Morrissette - You Otta Know or Uninvited
Bonnie Raitt - Love Letter (read the lyrics...)
Cyndi Lauper / Roy Orbison / Celine Dion - I Drove All Night
Def Leppard and Flock of Seagulls both have a Photograph and nothing else and spend their lives just wishing.

The first two were on the "I Got Dumped" mix I used to play a long time ago. Apparently, I'm not the only one.

Wasn't there also one in the 80's called Obsession by Animotion or something? Was a cheesy dance tune but it seems to fit the bill also...

Yeah, it's fine, we'll walk down the line. Leave our rain, a cold trade for warm sunshine
You my friend, I will defend... and if we change, well, I love you anyway

Yup, just did on my lunch break, and now I'm torn. I definitly see what you're saying, including when he says "I want you for mine-my flesh and blood". The only part that leaves me confused is in the very end when he keeps yelling (in a very sexy voice too ) "do you wanna die". In my very limited vampire "education" (Anne Rice novels, including Interview), when they went to make the little girl a vampire, if they let her die, then she couldn't "live" eternally, so he wouldn't be offerning her death...probably will listen to it a gazillion times now :D
Oh well, guess that's part of the beaty of music, lol...

PS-If I can keep current with this weather, maybe I'll get to meet you at FreezeFest :)

Yes, i absolutely love this song, I could sing the whole thing right now I used to listen to it so much. I have the same feeling about it, it definitely has that vampire feel to it. 'Behind the boat house, I'll show you my dark secret', 'give it up to me', etc. I think in the end, when he's screaming 'do you want to die' he's not asking her as if he will help her with that, I think he is giving her an ultimatum, do you want to come with me or would you rather die? Just my thoughts.
