freeflygoddess 0 #1 January 16, 2004 Ok so Todd and I were talking about how your dreams change throughout your skydiving and we have come to the same conclusion that everyone has the same dreams. First you start of dreaming about freefall and landing, maybe some nightmares of malfunctions but never burning in. However, after your fears subside everyone that we have talked to all have the dreams of falling and burning in without pulling, but then getting up and walking away and useually that is after you had a skydive that didn't start out all that great but you got through it, like a cutaway or something that built your confidence in yourself that you can handle any situation. So the question is when did you start haveing the walk away from burning in dream?
skyyhi 0 #2 January 16, 2004 Haven't had the burning in dream yet. . .had the cutaway dream already. . .was doing a 4-way with friends, funnelled the exit, spun out of control, pulled, nothing overhead. . .went red, silver, got a nice canopy complete with a couple line twists. . . (by the way, you were right about not arching. . .feels MUCH better on the back. . .)________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy
JeffD 0 #3 January 16, 2004 I have had a few weired ones. Where I'll have a mal for a few minutes (like 5) trying to cutaway but it just wont leave. Then finally I get close to the ground, flare and land.
freeflygoddess 0 #4 January 16, 2004 Quoteby the way, you were right about not arching. . .feels MUCH better on the back. . hehehehehe of course it does! It also helps you get to oxygen faster...however, if you take too long in the door at 21,000ft, it doesn't really matter, you still get hypoxic...which you don't notice until you are under canopy, and you think..."wow I had alot to drink last night"....but then you land and your head starts pounding and you are all dizzy, and you become very dazed, and you reaslize, "Wait I didn't frink last night..." and then it finally registars to you that you took way too long in the door.... caress 0 #5 January 16, 2004 I've had lots of them, and they were all pleaseant. No burning dreams. But I really like Vertiflys' sig line-"When I fall in dreams, it is not a nightmare, it is a tease!" Simply brilliant!-Caress I've learned.... That being kind is more important than being right. aero04 0 #6 January 16, 2004 I had a doozy that I still haven't figured out. A reoccuring one though is after I throwout, I look up and the lines are something like 70 feet long and the canopy never opens. Of course I land fine. I've also had the cutaway dreams and the burn in dreams that always turn out well. I've quit trying to figure out dreams.
newsstand 0 #7 January 16, 2004 I've only had on e strange skydiving dream and in it I pulled and my canopy opened beautifully, big square, all lines straight except it was below my feet instead of above my head. ChileRelleno 0 #9 January 16, 2004 Various types of skydiving dreams, nothing in the scary/terrifying nightmare range. Just freaky weird stuff. Watch out for Ivan, dreams have been discussed many times ChileRelleno-Rodriguez Bro#414 Hellfish#511,MuffBro#3532,AnvilBro#9, D24868
