luggage allowances on airlines

Recommended Posts

Hi
hope some ppl here can give me some advice / tips on what to do .

the situation is as follows:
i am leaving SA next month to work and live in london/uk for 2 years - thats the plan anyways -
just spoke to brittish airways and they tell me i can only have 23kg - booked and 6kg carry on.
now considering i am taking all my clothes - this is highly unlikely.
the airline refuses to give me and extar allowance - even though i told them it is sporting goods.

only thing i can think of is writing to dz's in london / uk
and get a letter saying i am gonna do a training camp - and hopefully here in jhb they will be nice ;)

what else can I do ???
Peace Be Da Journey

When my girlfriend came back from Italy she was able to pay like 125 euros to check an extra bag. It's cheaper than shipping it so it may be an option for you. Also you could just wear all of your clothes onto the plane :)

Have flown BA to Barcelona and to the USA and never had a problem with baggage - and have seriously kicked the backside out of the limits. If you e-book then you just hand your bags in at the counter- they were not weighed in either direction.
Hope that helps.
