RevJim 0 #1 December 31, 2003 Giving myself a big pat on my own back. 6 months as a non-smoker. LOVE IT!!!! WOOOO HOOOO! Quite proud of myself too. a week ago my best friend became a 1st time father (BEER!). He's the typical proud papa, handing out the cigars. Well, to everyone but me. It's a special occasion, but no matter how hard he pressed, I wouldn't even take one to keep. Nope, not only did I not want to smoke one, I wouldn't take it at all. Ugh.....speaking of that, my wife just lit a cig. Ugggggh. GET ME OUTTA HERE!!!!!! I'm gonna gag and puke! It's your life, live it! Antithesis 0 #4 December 31, 2003 Congrats Rev. That's an inspiration. I just quit 3 weeks ago although I'm determined I can't say that I haven't had my share of frustration. I have ten cartons of smokes in my closet that fell off a truck that my friends have no problem working on for me. Wasching them smoke from the "other side" only makes me stronger every day. RevJim 0 #5 December 31, 2003 3 weeks huh? That's right about where the smell of them starts making you gag, and your throat and nose burn, if I remember right. Kai, Grrrrrr. PUT IT OUT! There was a world record justin way at the WFFC this year. How about a non-smoking truck driver way at the WFFC in '04? It's your life, live it! RevJim 0 #9 December 31, 2003 QuoteI've been off of them about three or four months now- I'm the only non-smoker in the house, and I've become a nazi. I already have quite a few pissed at me. I could really care less about this duplex, but the new house.....the one I'm remodeling top to bottom? NON SMOKING HOUSE, period. I'll be gone over the road as soon as it's done, but there has been a warning that if I come home to that NEW house, and smell smoke, I'm turning around, getting back in the truck, and driving to a lawyer. How's that for Nazi? If she smokes, or lets anyone else smoke, in that house, I'm getting a big D.It's your life, live it! towjumpr 0 #16 December 31, 2003 Good job rev. I hit the one year mark last week and i still find it hard at times. Sometimes i wake up in the morning with the taste of an ashtray in my mouth but that could be because i didn't brush the night before.

I'm a car hauler, or at least I will be again when I finish remodeling this house. Took a year or so off the road and drove a dump truck, but miss the open road, freedom, and WARM WEATHER that only OTR can give. Hopefully the house will be live-able by Valentines day so I can get back on the road! It's your life, live it! jumpr71 0 #19 January 14, 2004 I quit smoking about 6 months ago as well...I am not totally convinced it was a good idea. I miss smoking! Smoking withdrawls in northern Virginia traffic while armed to the teeth was kinda interesting though ---you should seriously consider removing yourself from the gene pool---
redramdriver 0 #20 January 14, 2004 Proud of ya dude Quite smoking myself about 3 years ago. Went through the "bitchin'" phase for about a month or so. Now I too can't stand the smell of smoke..My wife thinks its funny because I point out all the smokers in the grocery store, not because they are purchasing a pack/carton of cigs...because they smell so bad. I have had to at times go to a differant line because the stench was making my stomach curl...thought I would hurl...and I wonder how my better half ever ever ever could have stood around and watch me smoke smoke smoke for all those years. P>S> also a truck driver...but I drive a tanker...so no longer lookin' in the mirror hopin the cig hit the hiway and not the tank!!!So, you bring your beer? Its 5 o'clock somewhere POPS #9344
