McDuck 0 #26 January 14, 2004 You were right. I wasn't aggressive enough, and then when I tried to BE aggressive with my legs, it seemed like I was TOO aggressive. In other words, if I wasn't letting my legs flop all over like soggy noodles, I was trying to slice the atmosphere with them. Well, I have an update. We went to ZHills this past weekend, and I was finally able to hold my sit the entire dive, after only one tumble as I came off the hill. The entire week before, I tried something that may, at first, seem a bit silly: I sat in every chair I had to be in for any length of time with my legs where I need them for my sit, and even practiced putting slight pressure on my feet. Between that and all of the incredibly helpful advice here, I was able to hold it. I just need to work on the tumble I get coming off the hill. I'm sure I have an idea what's causing it, I just have to work to correct it. Thanks to everyone for their advice and laughter. It helped me learn and realise I'm not the only one who has to go through this. McDuck 0 #30 January 14, 2004 Well, we'll see if the ZHills vibe stays with me on my next several jumps here. Once I can repeat my success there about 10-15 times I can call it a good place to start. Edited to add: And with my new freefly suit from Tony Suits, I'll be styling...even if I flop all over the sky. Push 0 #33 January 14, 2004 When you exit, try exiting with your back to the prop and putting your legs all the way in to your chest, into sort of a ball with your arms out. This prevents the wind from catching your feet and giving you a cartwheel. You can fly this with your arms, do a 180 and geek the people still in the plane, for instance We call this a "ride the slide" exit in Canada, and it's really easy. You will probably end up on your back after you get to terminal. This is fine, it's because you were backflying on exit (think about it, it makes sense). Just go right ahead and sit up. Glad it helped. I would love to jump with you when I drop by Florida in about a month. -- Toggle Whippin' Yahoo Skydiving is easy.
