Why buy the cow . . .?

This came to me in an e-mail forward, and I thought it was cute:

For all those men who say, "why buy the cow when you can get the milk for free".... here's an update for you. Nowadays 80% of women are against marriage. Why? Because women realize it's not worth buying an entire Pig, just to get a little sausage.

:D:D:D

What about a big sausage? :S

Well. I don't get it.

Been committed for about 20 years. Share the sausage and whatever else might be valuable to her in exchange for "milk" and her time, love, and consideration. She also bore me my children.

She also bore my children.

She also bore my children.

I have a family. She owns the sausage.

I own the cow.

We own the family.

Is there an echo in here?

Yup yup yup. Ditto.

Whoa dude, this is where it gets nasty. I'm not owned. Never have been, never will be. I'm me. There are a few things about me she can't stand. I don't really care. It's me. You just can't have the parts of me you like, and toss the rest. I'm a package deal. The day she "owns" me is the day I become "unowned, legally". This goes both ways though, so here:

See above. I don't own her either.

Yep. Now here we agree. :)

I doubt we really disagree. The concept of "ownership" has so many definitions.

One of them is that, having created children we own them, and the responsibility for them, forever. They also own us as parents.j

See the thread about toxic parents.

Obligation or responsibility as opposed to ownership? I'm open. The key is, maybe, accountability for the relationships we create.

The world will crap it's collective pants when the new one is finished.

Ah. I have been inspired by my latest trip to Eloy and the magnesium creation that Gasson owns.

Mine will be titanium, and the sensible people will shriek in envy.

It is good to know a Class A Machinist with access to medical grade machining tooling.

Yeah, the only problem is that the milk dried up on me and then she became a vegetarian... :P

Yeah, it's fine, we'll walk down the line. Leave our rain, a cold trade for warm sunshine
You my friend, I will defend... and if we change, well, I love you anyway

I don't know where they get this stuff...I've gone out of my way to make sure there are absolutely NO nude photos of me in existence anywhere. So, how do they know it's little?? Uh, I've said too much. :D
