Its the alcohol which makes you feel drunk by acting as a competative inhibator in your brain, (trying to remember A-level biology). So if this drug slows down its metabloism into other products you will be pissed longer and have the consequential problems longer. Ok this product might reduce the hangover, but its not getting the alcohol out of your system any faster. What bothers me about the website is that its one of those products where they try to baffle you with science.... they always smell of bullshit. Might work well and be a real cool addition to my hangover cure. I'm just worried about the bullshit. yoink 321 #16 January 5, 2004 eh?????? the majority of liver damage doesn't come from acetyl aldehyde, but from the hydrogen ions produced as a byproduct of the reaction that they quote (ethanol oxidation)... These hydrogen ions produce a change in the hepatic fat metabolism leading to a growth of fatty droplets within the liver which can group together and cause severe liver damage. The body is able to metabolise small amounts of these fatty droplets over a period of time, but if too many are produced they group together to form fatty globules which are not easily broken down and severely reduce liver function. surely therefore, (ignoring the problems of getting an effective amount of this compound to the liver and associated problems with ingesting dehydrogenases and their metabolism in the stomach), by increasing the oxidation of ethanol in the liver in a sort space of time (as this claims to do) will build up fatty droplets over a shorter period of time, reducing their chance to be metabolised effectively... This sounds like a bad idea to me.... I'd guess that any hangover reducing properties that this has is a result of the placebo effect and the small amounts of glucose within the tablet.... I've done a degree in Neuroscience and had a paper published on the clinical and biochemical effects of alcohol within the body and I'm struggling to follow the reasoning and logic on their website... Zeemax 0 #23 January 14, 2004 Right, the results are in... I went out last night as a last minute thing, i got some work done earlier than i was expecting, but still had to catch up. So, drinking fairly quickly i had: 2 corona's (4.7% abv) 10 vodkas (in the UK these are 25 ml measures) 2 shooters 4 more vodkas I then had a glass of water before bed, but not my usual pint for hang over curing, just a small glass as i was thirsty. I took two pills just before i went out, then two just before we moved onto the club (between the vodka's and shooters). Got back at about 2 this morning (i think), then had to get up at 7 for work. Normally this amount of alcohol would see me very pale the next day and moving as little as possible.
