They also do it to prevent people from scamming money.

When my brother-in-law was in law school, all the law students racked up huge student loans. Then, the first thing that they did out of law school was declare bankruptcy.

Of course, those are professional scammers, you expect them to be better at it. :P

Some loans are not covered by declaring bancruptcy. Most education loans need to be paid back, even if you declare.

if a male has served his country in the military and never filled out selective services form, he can be denied Gov't Funding.

Yep....they are wierd like that. When I was in processing for my current govt job I had to call a 1 800 number to verify that I had registered for selective service. Even though I was holding my DD 214 that showed 9 years 6 months and 6 days of military service. :S

I went to apply for the MBA program at a university that I graduated from. The clerk told me that I need to supply my high school transcript. I told them that I did, when I applied to go there before, I was a graduate of that university.

"You still have to bring them in."
"Why, isn't a 4-year degree from this university good enough?"
"It's just a rule." :S

People could just do it until they got caught once, then stop, knowing it wouldn't affect their chances at an education.

If they don't get caught, how can we know that they're doing anything?
Edit to add: I'm not for urinalysis, either, unless the person wants to play sports or the like. Unless someone shows some behavior warranting a random urinalysis, I think this is an invasion of privacy.
