dzdiva 7 #1 January 4, 2004 I finally figured out what the hamper is for! It's there so that the pile of clothes on the floor next to it doesn't fall over! I had to give my son an inservice on the use of the hamper tonight. I called him in and pointed to it and said "This is a clothes hamper". He said "Uh huh". I then pointed to the pile of clothes and towels next to it and told him that it would be a perfect place for those! He said "Uh huh" and started to walk away. I called him back and asked him if he needed me to show him how to use it. He rolled his eyes. I gave him that Mom look and he grunted and put the pile in. I wiped a tear from my eye. This is indeed one of those proud moments in parenthood! Of course I know that tomorrow the pile will appear again! n23x 0 #10 January 4, 2004 I feel i should respond to this one to explain how the hamper actually works. Clean clothes go from the dryer into the hamper with the other clean clothes. Dirty clothes and then the variety of "lessor-clean" clothes go on the floor. Works like a charm. .jim"Don't touch my fucking Easter eggs, I'll be back monday." ~JTFC

cindee 0 #12 January 4, 2004 LOL. Sounds like my 14 year old son. He thinks the floor in his room is just a big shelf. His only chore this weekend is to clean his room and it's still not done! __________________________________________________ "If happy little bluebirds fly above the rainbow, why oh why can't I?" diverdriver 6 #13 January 4, 2004 You put your clean clothes in a dresser. He puts them on the floor. The Ying, the yang. Balance. Simple. You must have balance in the world. What would it be like if everything was done so perfectly all the time? You remember the first Matrix don't you? It was a disaster. Millions of crops were lost. His only chore this weekend is to clean his room and it's still not done! Look, if the clothes are in the dresser then he can't really coordinate his clothes now can he? Out of sight, out of mind. You want him to dress well don't you? Well, men are visual animals and we must see what we want to hunt. Put the clothes away and it could be detrimental to his fashion sense.
