type245 0 #1 February 10, 2011 Hello, I have some questions about the G4. 1) I would like to have "black mini diamond" for the backpad. Does it decrease the comfort? At my old G4, which I sold in 2007 I had not "black mini diamond" for my backpad. The backbad was very flexible, smooth and comfortable. Is "black mini diamond" also smooth or is it inflexible? 2) My old G4 had the containersize M0. It was no problem to get a Safire2 129 and a Speed 135 Reserve into it. I would like to jump my new rig for a long while. Can the main and reserve put into a MT? I aapologize for my bad English! Best regards!
rehmwa 2 #2 February 10, 2011 You could call or write to Mirage. 1 - what's the issue, you jump shirtless? 2 - They have a container sizing chart on their website. Go look. (Example - MT sized for Stiletto120 and PDR126 according to the chart - are those canopies equivalent pack volumes?) And you could also ask your rigger about fitting those canopies in the MT. ... billvon 2,991 #3 February 10, 2011 >Can the main and reserve put into a MT? Max main size on the MT is a Safire 119. Max reserve size on an MT is a Smart 135. So no, the main won't fit. If you want to use those canopies get an M0; both are listed as optimal for that container.
Titanman2789 0 #4 February 10, 2011 I disagree. I have packed a brand new Stiletto 135 into an MT. It was tight but it wasn't THAT tough to get in there. Safire 129 may be very possible in MT. Keep in mind I was also a packer
type245 0 #5 February 11, 2011 Thx for answer. The "Speed 2000" is a low bulk reserve. The smart 135 has a Volume of 333 cu.in and the Speed 2000 150, 266 cu.in. How much volume has the Stiletto 135. I don't find any information about the volume? I think the Stiletto 135 has less pack volume than the safire, because it is elliptical and the safire2 is semi elliptical. @Titanman Had the Stiletto left enough space for a little bit more material or was it very tight. I was rigger at the german army. I have expierence with pack jobs. May be it is possible.
billvon 2,991 #6 February 11, 2011 If your old rig (an MO) fit the canopies well, and is listed as ideal for those canopies - why _wouldn't_ you get an MO?

type245 0 #8 February 11, 2011 I want to jump the rig for a long time, so it would be nice for me if the safire2, 129 fit in the MT.

Titanman2789 0 #10 February 13, 2011 All I can really say was that the stiletto 135 in the mt was a little snug from what I remember. You definitely could not put a 150 in there but it wasn't particularly difficult. Your experience packing may also help, as well as the low bulk reserve. I have found the mirage container sizing guide to be a bit on the conservative side as well. The same MT that I packed the stiletto 135 in also had a katana 107 in it at one point. The sizing guide on the mirage site says katana 107 is soft in the Mt but in my opinion the katana 107 is too small for that size container. If you are really unsure I would call mirage like suggested before already.
