Nearly 800 cruise ship passengers are stranded in the Caribbean and other ticket holders are in limbo Monday after a cruise company claimed bankruptcy and lost its navigational equipment to creditors, according to Local 6 News.




Local 6 News reported that financial problems forced Royal Olympic Cruises to file Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection.

One of the company's cruise ships, the Olympia Voyager, is anchored in St. Thomas and will "not be going anywhere anytime soon." It is believed that about 800 passengers are stranded on the Voyager

Creditors reportedly stopped the cruise ship from continuing and repossessed computers and navigational equipment, Local 6 News reporter Giovanna Drpic reported.


The report featured a possible future passenger John Haskell who was holding cruise tickets with the company to tour the Amazon River.

"I'm disappointed that this happened, Haskell said. "I was looking forward to this cruise. It was going to come to around $5000 for the two of us. It was a good bargain."

Local 6 News attempted to reach Royal Olympic but was unsuccessful.

Do we have any idea what day this cruise left, and from where? One of SDA's DZO's just left last week on a cruise TO GET MARRIED IN ST. THOMAS! Wonder if he and his new wife are stranded down there?

Sounds like it would be a great place to be stranded, however, I don't care where it is, it would really suck to have to stay under those circumstances. Bastards!!!

I think this one needs to go in the Repo man hall of fame. It would really suck if they made everyone disembark and fend for themselves though. The article didn't say if this was the case or not.

The mother and father should both not only be beaten,starved and incarcerated but they should also be sterilized. While incarcerated they should be given special visiting privliges by the other prisoners who "just want to talk to them"
