I'm thinking I should be able to get there on Monday and stay through Sunday! Is New orleans the closest major airport? How far of a drive is it? mikeigo 0 #3 December 16, 2003 The Mardi Gras Boogie is scheduled for February 21-29. The closest and cheapest airport to fly to is Gulfport, Mississippi, located about 40 minutes west of the DZ. Mobile, AL is 40 minutes east of the DZ but the ticket prices seem to be higher there. Check out our website www.goldcoastskydivers.com for hotel information. Miami 0 #4 December 16, 2003 New Orleans is usually the cheapest airport to fly into, but check the biloxi/gulfport regional airport, it is less than 30 minutes from the dz as opposed to the hour fifteen from NO. Another airport to check is Mobile, which is about a hour from the dz. Every once in a while it seems like they have a good deal going on and can be cheaper than NO. I am trying like hell to be able to get down there, I haven't missed one yet. Just having a baby makes things a bit tougher, though.
