So it was either Christmas presents for my children or SKYDIVE

Recommended Posts

Well yesterday was a beautiful day weather wise at my DZ...I'm just a student but am dying to progress quickly so I decided to jump every wekend until I get my license.......all of a sudden I realized it was Dec. 21 and I had not bought ANY...and I mean ANY Christmas presents for anyone and I have four daughters.....So it was either take the whole day and go shopping or say screw it and go jump........I wish I had jumped.....well there is always next weekend but it will probably not be as nice.....I must be hooked...even Christmas can't hold a candle to skydiving.......But I'm a Dad first and my girls sure think alot more of Christmas then Dad jumping outta planes..........

Just think of who's dissapointment would be greater:

Yours because you didn't get to jump or...
Your 4 daughters because they didn't have a Christmas present under the tree from Santa or Dad?
(Yes, I know the holidays aren't always about gifts but when you are a little tyke, it is one of the best parts that you look forward to)

I think you made the right choice:) on X-mas day will far outlast the joy from one skydive. Skydives are nice but holidays are an important time of year for family to bond.

Hey Tom, we were wondering what happened to you on Sunday! Don't worry, you without a doubt did the right thing, and there will be plenty more days to jump! You're a great dad! Take care, and have a Merry Christmas & Happy New Year...I'll see you in '04! ;)

Thanks for thinking of me.....I struggled with the decision until the last minute .....But the angel pushed the devil off my shoulder and then it became obvious what the right thing to do was....
I will defienetly be there next weekend weather permitting....I asked the girls and they said next weekend would be fine with them......so I even have their permission my kids are very cool.

You really did the right thing! Youd have felt crappy if you'd gone and jumped then had to tell the kids they werent having a christmas!! Plus you cant have them resenting you jumping, kids are great to have around when you need your rig packing!! Lol!

You'll get your licence...take it easy!
