Vallerina 2 #1 December 19, 2003 My friends and I like to think about what our 10 year reunion will be like. We try to guess who's going to be doing what, and it's surprising how accurate some of our predictions were right out of high school over 5 years ago. My group of friends wasn't the "popular" group, but we weren't outcasts either. So, when many people talk about their high school days, I usually don't relate to neither the "Working on the Homecoming float was so much fun," nor the "I only had one friend in high school and that was my history teacher" stories. My guess is that many skydivers don't meet the level of conformity to be "popular," but I'm curious to know how many outcasts there are! There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
weegegirl 2 #2 December 19, 2003 ha ha.... i am NOT anymore at all... i swear!.... but in high school, they used to refer to me as "The Queen of the Hippies." My best friend Bryan was "The King of the Hippies." I don't know if I would call that popular in the commonly known sense, but we were popular among the hippies! Seriously... I swear I'm not a hippy anymore!
Marz 0 #3 December 19, 2003 Well, aside from being quite well know for my temper, truancy record the size of a phone book, and the best er... "spices" in the area, I was voted "most likely to become a homeless vagabond" in my gradution yearbook. I guess I made out allright I never considered myself very popular... I had too much attitude for that. Marz _________________________________________ Did I just kill another thread?
dropoutdave 0 #4 December 19, 2003 Has anyone else noticed that the most 'popular' kids at school all turn out to be morons when they get older? All the ones from my old school still hang onto their superficial bullshit whereas the so-called outcasts are the most genuine ones around. I took great pleasure in seeing the most popular girl from my year at school, that all the guys fancied, walking down the street with 3 kids hanging off her tired lookin ass the other day. But like the Murphy's, i'm not bitter, hehe. ------------------------------------------------------ May Contain Nut traces......
Vallerina 2 #5 December 19, 2003 QuoteHas anyone else noticed that the most 'popular' kids at school all turn out to be morons when they get older? Hmm....not really with my high school. Most of the top ten in my class were part of the elite group. I think it's because they were smart enough to throw great parties and not get caught! QuoteI took great pleasure in seeing the most popular girl from my year at school, that all the guys fancied, walking down the street with 3 kids hanging off her tired lookin ass the other day. I remember this girl who defined her friends by which stores they shopped at. She thought that buying a tanning bed would be cheaper than buying tanning packages would be cheaper in the long run. I saw her awhile back, and she could've been mistaken for a transvestite. I guess that's the sad thing about when someone gets too involved in their looks...when they go bad...they've lost everything. There's a thin line between Saturday night and Sunday morning
chaoskitty 0 #6 December 19, 2003 I was "little miss involved in everything", so I was friends with just about everyone, but certainly not the homecoming queen. I cant say I fit in to any group in particular, but had a few close friends and a bunch of 'acquaintance-level' friends. My two best friends from back then were girls I knew through activities outside of school, and I still keep in touch with them, but cant say I keep up with anyone from High School. My ten year reunion will be this year.. holy crap that just hit me.... and if I lived in the same city, I would probably go, but I dont even live in the same state so I doubt it. Would rather save the PTO and plane ticket for a boogie.

Viking 0 #8 December 19, 2003 I was the geeky kid that always got picked on. Tall skinny painfully shy guy who never went to school dances and never went on dates. WrongWay 0 #9 December 19, 2003 Let's see here....I wasn't "popular" by ANY means, nor was I an outcast. I was always the guy the people remembered for sitting around the cafeteria in my free time (which was a lot) playing guitar. I was the dude that wasn't associated with any groups, I just did my own thing and kept friends on both sides of the spectrum. I think "clicks" are stupid as hell, personally. skybytch 273 #10 December 19, 2003 I'm still kinda sad that I missed the "20+" year reunion they just had for my class (and three others... it was a small school). I heartily and actively disliked most of my classmates so not seeing them would have been no loss, but I heard that my favorite teacher showed up. Would have been fun to show them all my JFTC video too. Yeah. Put me in the female outcast category. Happily though, you're right. High school stuff stopped mattering the day after graduation. Zenister 0 #11 December 19, 2003 outcasts? hmm you mean we didnt participate in the pointless, silly overt social scene? would be me..of course that would also be the 30ish other people who didnt fit into what highschool life in AL was supposedly about.. whats amazing is I still talk to most of them, very few still live there and most are doing better than any of the 'overacheivers' lauded by the school structure.. reunions? whats the point? everyone i care about i still talk to regularly (just got 3 letters here from actually) and we still throw better parties than the social strata ever thought about... of course if i cared it could be interesting to bring my passport and personal acheivement list to rub in the face of the walmart managers and bank tellers with bad marrages and ugly kids who repeatly said 'you'll never amount to anything'. fortunately i have far better things to do with my time than wallow in the stagnant pond they mistook for the ocean...____________________________________ Those who fail to learn from the past are simply Doomed. PhreeZone 20 #12 December 19, 2003 I just had my 5 year reunion this year.. it was great. The valedictorian's were either college dropouts and working at Outback or still living at home hoping their HS boyfriend would marry them. It was quite rewarding to have been so far outcast in HS only 4 people reconnized me at the reunion with out me speaking first... and yet been one of the few that had made enough of my life that I've now got friends all over the US and even the world Most likely to succeed was the one working at Outback and little old me that was in a total of 3 pictures in the entire year book and one was of me asleep in class... was the one thats made the most with my life. And they realized that making fun of me in HS for being a geek was a bad idea since "No.. I won't fix your computer!" was just fun to say now Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
skyyhi 0 #13 December 19, 2003 Okay, I never thought of myself as popular. . .just didn't belong in any group. I was in band, choir, dance team, and I lettered in Volleyball and Basketball. I was a very busy chic and didn't think about my position much. . . Anyway, at my 10 year reunion, so many of the popular kids came up to me like. . .Darcy, so good to see you, how have you been. . . Cracked me up because most of them wouldn't have given me the time of day in high school . . .Also, about 10 years ago, I remember this really nerdy, poindexter type kid from band that was always getting picked on. I ran into him at Laguna Beach with his wife. He was now 6'2" of pure, chisled, rippling muscle perfection and well-tanned too (oops, drooling again just thinking about him) . . .needless to say, my chin hit the floor when I saw him. . .lol________________________________________ Take risks not to escape life… but to prevent life from escaping. ~ A bumper sticker at the DZ FGF #6 Darcy
champu 1 #14 December 19, 2003 I speant my first three years in high school as a dorky loser shut in playing video games. my senior year I got a job, a car, a group of friends, started shaving my head, MCed a few school events, went to all the school dances, and graduated 5th in my class That was a fun year. I speant first couple years in college as a dorky loser shut-in playing video games. Then I got a new group of friends, I started skydiving, got conned into being the president of the club, but now I get to meet all kinds of new skydivers every week. I apparently just take a couple years before I get bored and decide to do something in a new setting.

Hehe, not that's just fuckin' funny Hope that doesn't happen at my HS though, the valedictorian was good friend of mine. As for me, I was the class clown with a 90 average in grade 9, then just the class clown in grade 10. The rest of high school I was just the guy everyone knew. Same thing for my first year of college. Hmm, not that I think about it, I wouldn't mind being back in HS. “- - Sumo is the greatest of sports. It has power, grace, speed and cluture. happythoughts 0 #17 December 19, 2003 Quoteparents now they think I can do no wrong. Isn't that essentially true? A couple of years after graduation, our Sr. Class pres was busted for his 2nd DUI and was doing 10 days in jail. Next to him was the National Honor Society president doing 60 days for battery on his stepfather. However, in all fairness, our high school yearbook is being used by the Sherrifs office as a mugbook. I was in 9th grade English when the police walked in and hauled someone out. Being able to successfully function, or fail, as a child was no predictor of adult success - either way. drakeshelby 0 #19 December 19, 2003 I can remember one of the hot looking cheerleaders in my class. She was the one every guy wanted to go out with and get in the sack!!!! I saw here at my 10 year reunion last year and she had about 4 kids and had an ass that you could show a double feature on!!!! She ballooned up nicely!!!! what gets me is she was voted most like to succeed!!! Now she is a college drop out and married some loser with 4 kids!!!! what a waste. on the other hand the most goofiest guy i knew was also on of the most sucessful ones at the reunion with I might add the hottest looking wife!!!!! Luv2Fall 0 #21 December 19, 2003 I was a non-comformist bully during those days......not caring much for anything. I went to my 20 Year Reunion.........wow....what an eye opener. The "popular" "good looking" people went to shit while the average student or geek blossomed. Aging sure does show on some waist lines lol. Hardly any of us were the same people anymore. I was both surprised and humbled at the number of classmates who passed on. I didn't make it to my 25th this past year.......maybe next time.

Because if not then that's just sad... Sorry that was not the point, but she had so much going for her that she really could have made a great life for herself. Now that she has 4 kids she cannot do anything but take care of them. They live in poverty. Their house is very nasty and they barely make ends meet. Her husband is never home to help out with the kids. drakedrakeshelby
