PhreeZone 20 #27 December 16, 2003 >i just didnt like the fact that they closed so early They did'nt quit serving early... you were just up that late Ahh... the memories of driving around on the golf cart at 3:30 in the morning and running across large groups of jumpers still up and partying. Then driving past Sunnys tent and hitting the gas since I did'nt like what I was hearing from there Yesterday is history And tomorrow is a mystery Parachutemanuals.com
NightJumper 0 #28 December 16, 2003 A 10 day event that is going to cost $10 more. That's a $1 a day. When you are spending at least $500 and up to go there is $10 really going make the difference? But then it doesn't really matter to me since I get paid to go.
Kennedy 0 #29 December 16, 2003 QuoteVillage board member Helen Lewis said she was supporting the contract with reservations, arguing that Rantoul should be given the opportunity to end the contract each year. Anyone else notice this one? sunshine 2 #30 December 16, 2003 QuoteThen driving past Sunnys tent and hitting the gas since I did'nt like what I was hearing from there I don't remember that....but i don't remember a lot of rantoul... Jmiracle, i had trouble finding the free soda too. And there were days when it was flat and icky when i did finally find it. I was in rantoul for 12 days and only made 14 jumps. My main goal was to chill with my friends. As much as i don't like the high fee, i gotta see my friends so i'll continue paying it anyway. ___________________________________________ meow I get a Mike hug! I get a Mike hug! eeneR 3 #32 December 16, 2003 I see no problem paying an extra $10. They are planning on making improvements for us...yes us, we give and will get back. I was only down for a weekend this last year, and dont drink beer. But still dont see a problem with it. Aandy 0 #36 December 17, 2003 QuoteThe beer is the only thing that pisses me off. To some, the free beer is prolly worth the registration fee alone. But if the registration fee can be lowered and make beer drinkers buy their own beer....well they should do that. Lets say the average skydiver drank 30 free beers over the tiem that they were at the wffc (which is proly alot more than it really is) that would be around 90,000 12 ounce beers. In a domestic keg of beer there is close to 150 12 oz beers that would make for 600 kegs. A cheap beer keg (High Life, Busch) costs about $32.00 x 600 = 19,200. Now, 19,200 divided by around 3000 skydivers is $6.40. So, if this is even close no beer would save you $6.40 on your registration fee. edit- sorry bout bustin out the mathmatics

Eh, damn vampires sucking the life out of the fun. Maybe it will be more fun without them $10 isn't that big of a deal - WFFC is always a drain on the wallet...and the jump prices are right in line with every DZ in a 5 or 6 hour drive, and quite a few around the country. To me - it's the best two weeks of the season since I hit both Summerfest and the WFFC. At least now I know it has a home and I will be able to make my vacation plans now.....it takes a few months to request two weekends in a row off....I've just worked the last 6 without a break. This announcement in combination with the SDC calendar makes it easier to pick my days off for this summer._________________________________________ you can burn the land and boil the sea, but you can't take the sky from me.... happythoughts 0 #39 December 21, 2003 My most expensive part was all those inflatables that we littered Rantoul with. The exception was the Dragon that kept being returned. It came back 4 times. One time it landed next to a guys rv and he brought over to the tent before we got back. Nice spot, I must say.
