Bolas 5 #26 February 12, 2008 An observation from another thread: Quote Quote Quote Quote I agree that anyone who is physically able to pull their main or reserve and has only their AAD save them needs to not be jumping anymore. Just wanted to quote you on that. Had I had nothing out when I had my Cypress fire, I would have never jumped again. You didn't have enough out to keep your cypres from firing. True. I thought about that as well afterwards. I'll never truly know if my AAD saved my life/saved me from injury. Having 368 feet of canopy above me definitely gave me more time to look at my options. It may have. However prior to my Cypres firing, I had done something. It may not have been the best thing in that situation, but it was something. I made some sort of attempt to save my own life.Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh. Bolas 5 #28 February 13, 2008 QuoteHas anyone had the bowling talk with you? No. I know what I did, how stupid it was, how lucky I got. I've not tried to make excuses for what I did or why I did it, only explain what happened. Generally isn't the bowling talk reserved for people who don't seem to understand that?Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh. Did you feel the speed increase typical of a downplane, or did you chop before it fully evolved into one? And if so, how did you "know" it was turning into one?"Iþ ik qiþa izwis, ni andstandan allis þamma unseljin."

I did not feel the speed increase nor did I know it was turning into a downplane. All I cared about at the time was that the canopy had clean air and lower likelihood of entangling with the reserve when it left.Stupidity if left untreated is self-correcting If ya can't be good, look good, if that fails, make 'em laugh.
