Most of the time, I feel like I made the right choices in my life.....then I read something like that, and get the picture in my head, and realize maybe I didn't. I also got to hold the two-week-old daughter of a co-worker today, for about 10 minutes. I felt protective of her even for that short time....I can't even imagine how intense it must be for you parents....but I'm sure it's wonderful. I feel exactly the same way. I feel good about myself when I pass an exam, learn or do something that is difficult, etc. Me too! Me too! Several years ago I had less than zero self-esteem, and this is exactly how I've boosted it up to a very healthy level. I'm constantly challenging myself to not take the easy way, and to try things that I thought I couldn't do. Not only do I get a huge boost in self-esteem, I have a lot of fun now, too!
 Nightingale 0 #34 December 13, 2003 MICHELE! You're a wonderful, generous, caring person who ANYONE would be priveledged to be able to call a friend. You have an amazing gift with words and always know just the right thing to say when someone's dealing with a tough situation. You phoned me, at the time a complete stranger, and left me the most wonderful phone message when I rode the plane down on my level 2 and was feeling terrible about myself for it. Your phone call helped me get up the courage to go back to the dropzone two days later and try again. I can honestly say that if it weren't for you, I may not have continued to jump. When I got involved in a situation you told me not to get involved in in the first place, you helped me deal with the aftermath without judging me, and didn't even once say "I told you so" even though you had. You shouldn't need to have someone or something make you feel important, because you are important just by being who you are!
