Treejumps 0 #1 December 9, 2003 Can anyone help. I'm using Adaptec CD Creator 4, and nearly every time I make a CD it crashes my system. I haven't been able to get it to burn a data cd to get all these MP3s off my hard drives, and it basically just sucks to have such unstable software. Any suggestions on a new program? Preferably free, but if I have to I'd pay for it. Thanks, Tree
Darius11 12 #2 December 9, 2003 I don't know if it is the software your using. I am not a tec guy but here is something that might work. Try Ctr,Alt, and delete and shut down all the unnecessary programs that are running that might stop your PC from crashing when you are burning a CD.I'd rather be hated for who I am, than loved for who I am not." - Kurt Cobain

Aromain 0 #7 December 9, 2003 there are a few things to do. Make sure you dont have any other programs running, ie: aim, ie etc. close out anything in the tray including (next to the clock on the right hand corner) things like quicktime bog down the system alot, just make sure you close them all down. Then, hit ctrl alt del and go to the running programs list and close everything except explorer and the burning program. Then as you are burning dont be surfing the internet or watching movies or anything. If none of these work, pour a cup of coffee into the power supply and laugh in pure extasy as the orgy of sparks burns your motherboard and renders it just as useless as before...or you can try installing nero 5 instead of destoying your pc.------------------------------------------------ "Matter fact go and get your chrome, cause I'd rather be, broke thogether, then rich alone." There's a free download called "Enditall" that shuts down all the superfluous crap. Google "Enditall" and you'll find a bunch of download sites. I use it before working on any CD or DVD stuff.... You almost always get a good burn Yes Nero is a very good program. There is a free version that lets you do some of its features, and you can pay for the serial number that lets you get access to the rest of it. It is like 50 bucks though I think, but you get what you pay for. However, I'm sure that someone on these boards has some sort of free serial number MB 3528, RB 1182
