Virginia or Maryland?

I know I'm being a little picky, but I guess I'm just spoiled by bigger turbines. Any ideas about various areas in VA (preferably near a large city or shore or something like that)??

Hartwood as far as I know is still closed. As stated, their A/C crashed awhile back. If your living in the Northern Virginia area and want big turbines and lots of loads then the closest DZ that can bring that is Orange. On weekends you can pretty much jump as fast as you can pack and it's not uncommon for there to be 20-23 loads a day. The Super Otter, Mr. Fabulous, is fast and well maintained. The people at Orange are fantastic as is the night life.

I would agree with all the folks on here who support the move to VA. The traffic in northern VA is pretty bad. you either have to leave real early or after 9:30 to reduce the stress. Orange is a good DZ and I LOVE their plane there (real fast). I need to check out Skydive VA because i haven't been there yet. I think i heard that Hartwood is going to be re-opening again in April, but don't quote me on that.

As far as Fredricksburg area, i am pretty sure that they have a VRE train from there to DC for commuting. check out http://www.vre.org/service/frd.htm
If you do end up in Fredricksburg Orange or Skydive VA will be closest i think. You can also check out Skydive the Point in West Point, Va if you end up in Fredricksburg. They are real friendly there. From Northern VA its a haul there though. good luck!

I think when Jesus said "love your enemy" he probably meant don't kill them.

Fairfax County is where you want to live for schools, one of the top public schools in the country. My mom chose Fairfax when we moved just for me to get a good education. Cost of living is a little steep, won't be able to find a townhome for under 200K. Orange is 1.5 hr. drive and all in all it's a pretty safe place too. Good luck.

Both states are oppressive, but I think Northern Virginia has more charm.
