scotman 0 #1 December 8, 2003 Where is the best DZ for the winter months in FLORIDA/GEORGIA ?? My wife and I are jumpers and we are looking for the DZ with the coolest group of people. We need a vibe that makes us feel welcome and is low on SkyGod attitude. Good planes and indoor packing help ?? Boy...are we comfort wimps or what??? Speak to me my fellow cloudhoppers..... klingeme 1 #9 December 8, 2003 Skydive Space Center in Titusville has a small DZ vibe, free bunkhouse, $17.00 jumps from 15,000 FT, and has the fastest King Air in the country. Mark Klingelhoefer
scotman 0 #10 December 8, 2003 I've been wanting to make the trip to Skydive Arizona for a long time. It seems as though my bank account never allows me to fly that far west. I'm on the East Coast. I will get there someday !!
scotman 0 #11 December 8, 2003 Yo Girl.... Please forgive me for being oblivious, but fill me in on your Chant ??? I'll probably kick myself for not "getting it".

weegegirl 2 #13 December 8, 2003 QuoteYo Girl.... Please forgive me for being oblivious, but fill me in on your Chant ??? I'll probably kick myself for not "getting it". Nothin' to really "get".... except for a ticket that will put you at Skydive SoBe in Pahokee, Florida. That's the most kickass freefly dz on the planet. (Well, okay, as far as I'm concerned.) Skydive SoBe is gorgeous... right on Lake Okachobee. Fun dz with a kickass otter. I'm headed that way myself Christmas/New Years. In all fairness.... everyone has their "favorite" dzs, so I'm sure just about anywhere you pick will rock. Blue Skies!
scotman 0 #14 December 8, 2003 You truly have my excitement level up to check out "SoBe"...Now that I'm up to speed..Can't believe I did'nt know the name of the DZ !!! It sounds like you are sold on the place...now it's my turn. How far south of Orlando would the drive be ???

It's under new ownership as of about 2 months ago, so it's in the get-up-and-go stages. Well worth a visit. From Orlando it's almost straight south about 150 miles. It would probably take up to three hours to get there.
Stacy 0 #16 December 8, 2003 SoBe is a sweet DZ, but doesn't have facilities to stay there for a week or so yet. I'm not sure that camping is allowed on teh DZ and pahokee is a sketchy area to stay in for hotels. Last time I was there there wasn't food concession on the DZ yet. It's a great place that's expanding rapidly though. ZHills has 76 Finnish skydivers visiting throughout december and January. Those guys know how to PARTAY. plus the regulars. 3-4 otters around. sheltered packing. free camping/ALWAYS hot showers (individual ones with your own sink), gear store, food, nightly dinners over teh oliday boogie, pauls bar has any beer you want for 2$ from budwater to shiner bock to bass, also has wine for the wine-os. there ar elocal hotels if you aren't into camping, and a huge bonfire every night for those locals who think that 55 is cold. The DZ is located 30-40 mins from Tampa Intl airport, and if the weather goes awry the city of Tampa is not far and full of things to do. __
skydiveelis 0 #17 December 8, 2003 I'm sorry it took me so long to anwser, lets see Deland is much bigger than Z-Hills , so to me ,you realy don't get to feel the vibes , Sebastian in the other hand is kind of like Z-Hills , smaller than Deland but , they have everyhting !!!!!!! I just like the vibes better in Z-Hills and Sebastian, everybody in the staff of both places are very friendly and make you feel welcome right of way! in Z-Hills they have one of the most cleanest showers I 'v seen in a DZ jajajaja I mean it!!!!!!! but again is just my personal opinion.________________________________________

scotman 0 #21 December 8, 2003 Hey Stacy, Sounds like Z-HILLS is the Ritz Carlton of Florida DZ's on your list ?? We may just bring a suitcase and stay !! What more could a jumper ask for ??????
Stacy 0 #22 December 8, 2003 it's just a good place with good people. NOt sure if you're a belly flier or not, but for RW there are usually aroudn 4 different organizers each day for RW. Boxman and or Guy Wright if he's around usually are doing the formation load stuff and tryouts for hte 140 ways in April. Then there are NIgel, Drew and Oren for those who are more into smaller (anywhere from 4-16 or so) ways and more casual types of skydives. If ya screw up, the worst that can happen is you get stuck wearing the SLotfinder 2000. I love that place and wish it wasn't so far from where I live right now! When I go there I drive past a few other places on my way. __
scotman 0 #23 December 8, 2003 I'm an all out RW bellyboy with too many skyventure wind tunnel hours to count....and I love it !!! Freeflying is awesome.....but this boy can't fly on his head for nothin' !!! Just give me lots of points on my belly and high speed 4-way !!!! I must admit...some of the most down to earth skydivers I've met are freeflyers. (nothing against my RW family) I look forward to ZHills.
kelel01 1 #24 December 8, 2003 Quotenightly dinners over the holiday boogie Z-Hills is having a holiday boogie? Or was that the Thanksgiving boogie?
