RevJim 0 #1 December 1, 2003 Woo Hoo! Time to toot my own horn too (Hi Michele!). Today, this morning at 6:30 to be exact, I hit 5 months without smoking. Those 5 months of not paying for cigarettes paid for my Bird Man suit (used), my Hawkeye TM, and my Neptune (both new). I'm calling it even for money spent on gear vs. money not spent on smokes as of today. Damn, does that feel good!!!! Now, doing the math, and not accounting for inflation , I will have not spent enough money on smokes as of mid-July to pay for that brand new, custom colored and fitted Mirage G3. So, for those of you still smoking, and maybe considering quitting, here's some incentive: 1 year and 1 month smoke free will net me a Bird Man suit, a Neptune Altimeter, a Hawkeye TM camera helmet, and a BRAND NEW CONTAINER! Quit now, while you still have the health to enjoy the sport! It's your life, live it! KawiZX900 0 #5 December 1, 2003 good for ya! I'm looking to put the pack down for good here after Dec 3rd... Smoking sux. Accelerate hard to get them looking, then slam on the fronts and rollright beside the car, hanging the back wheel at eye level for a few seconds. Muenkel 0 #7 December 1, 2003 Great job Rev. You've accomplished what is considered to be one of the most difficult things to do. Now go spend all that money and get yourself into debt! Chris _________________________________________ Chris
dropdeded 0 #8 December 1, 2003 Thats good to hear Rev. I have like 7-8 weeks. It aint something I thought I could EVER quit, but it is possible. Congrats to you man. dropdeded------------------------------------------ The Dude Abides. -
Gawain 0 #9 December 1, 2003 Dude Congrats! I'm all about that man. I quit October 2002 and devoted every penny not already going to essentials or skydiving to paying off debt. It paid off big time. Now, for you smokers, I ain't some born-again, but I found I had to really focus on one little thing that truly made me realize, and get mad, about how "over the barrel" I was with smoking. I still miss it sometimes, but now the smell grows more foreign all the time and it appears, thankfully, that attraction is turning into a repellent. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! RevJim 0 #10 December 1, 2003 QuoteNow go spend all that money and get yourself into debt! Did that (house). The skydiving stuff I pay cash for. I figure I'll order the rig around the first of May or so, so i'll get it around the time it will be paid for by not smoking, and I'll pay for it without credit. The balance of the year should be enough to pay for that new Samurai! It's your life, live it! RevJim 0 #13 December 1, 2003 Quotethe smell grows more foreign all the time and it appears, thankfully, that attraction is turning into a repellent. You are soooo right about that! I'm already to the point that the very smell of cig smoke makes me want to hurl! I go out to dinner with the wife, and when asked smoking or non, I answer non. Doesn't matter if I'm the only non out of 6 people (it has happened), it's still non, or I just go somewhere else. My wife even learned that if she wants anything from me, a toothbrush and multiple rinses with listerene are now a requirement, not an afterthought. It's your life, live it! chaoskitty 0 #17 December 1, 2003 "If you lick the lollipop of mediocrity, you'll suck forever" Double meaning... 1. If you are complacent being mediocre, and never strive to acheive more, you will always be mediocre. 2. If meaning 1 applies, you suck. haha! Basically its a round about/humorous way of saying that theres always more to do and acheive.. just keep plugging. Men seem to just see the "you'll suck forever" part though.... hmmmm
tinfoil 0 #18 December 1, 2003 Way to go man, people who quit smoking don't get enough respect because nicotine is more addicting then... any other substance. “- - Sumo is the greatest of sports.
