QuickDraw 0 #1 November 28, 2003 Bruges to be exact, just wondering whats worth seeing there ? I'll be working there next week (leaving Sunday morning and returning on Friday). I will only be able to see stuff in the evenings (after 5pm) and I'm a 10 minute walk from the town, but thought it was worth a shout anyway. Thanks in advance as ever. -- Hope you don't die. -- I'm fucking winning
Daizey 0 #2 November 28, 2003 oh its beautiful there! I went there a few years back and i loved it. The chocolate is amazing in belgium!! From what i remember the nice thing about Brugges is that its a tourist area...at the time i was there you could pay with their currency, France's currency, or even american money. I took a boat ride and a horsecarriage ride-both of which were amazing-if you could do even just one of them i would recommend it because you get to see so much-and the tours were given in a few different languages as well! Its a great area and everyone was soo nice. The buildings and the architecture are amazing, I was only 14 at the time so i didn't have as great of an appreciation for it as i would now. Some places i remember checking out were the marketplace and grand square. And of course the boat and carriage ride-i would really try and do those if you can...the boat was better than the carriage... I do have pictures around somewhere, i'll see if i can dig them up. Wish i could go back....i really enjoyed it-hope you do too! Have fun! *daizey*

McDuck 0 #5 November 28, 2003 We have friends that live in Belgium, but I have yet to have the pleasure of visiting. Perhaps some pics posted, once you return, of your time there would not be totally uncalled for. QuickDraw 0 #6 November 29, 2003 Thanks guys, I'll try and give the 'culture' thing my full attention. I like to soak up the places i visit & maybe I'll see if there is some night-time boat/beer tour,I know a girl from Belgium, and contacted her as soon as i knew i was going, and have yet to chat about it. But thanks Daisy-Kurt-ChopChop-McDuck. I will try and post any photos or + or - comments, but to be honest, i haven't heard any bad ones so far. I'l try and drop in from time to time, but otherwise ..all have fun and stay cool & safe. Expect a full tourist-type thingy guide report sometime. -- Hope you don't die. -- I'm fucking winning
kallend 2,106 #7 November 29, 2003 Q. Who is the the most famous Belgian? A. Hercule Poirot, and he's fictional.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one.
Dragontail 0 #8 November 29, 2003 I happened to jump with some people visiting from Belgium last time I visited Z-hills. Great folks. Awesome skydivers. Much fun to jump with. I think they said they would be at Z-hills this weekend. If anyone is there, say Hi to Drew for me and ask if they showed up Anyway, I'm jealous. I travel around the states often enough but have not had the pleasure of skydiving in another country.
chopchop 0 #9 November 29, 2003 Hey.. good idea.. there is a little boat tour that is just incredible but I don't know if it still runs at night. TheAnvil 0 #10 November 29, 2003 They have a brewery there that wasn't bad at all. There is a bar called The Hobbit that has all you can eat ribs and a damned good selection of beers and whiskey. Highly recommended. Just walking around the town is great fun. I took the little boat tour around the canal and thought it worth the $$. Don't forget to taste the chocolates. And steamed mussels with French Fries, of course.Vinny the Anvil Post Traumatic Didn't Make The Lakers Syndrome is REAL JACKASS POWER!!!!!!
