If you give yourself a name, you have to understand that some people (Even those with no tact and yes I include myself in that) will have an issue with it.

And do you understand that:

1. I really didn't mean to attack anyone, just trying to point out something I see these days more than ever.

2. That new folks are coming in and not taking the time to learn the culture...And SOME of them don't care and can get very pissy when you try to help. And yes I understand that the approach can mean the difference. But even if you don't like the person or the way they say something, you should still listen...You might learn something. Medicine tastes bad but does good things

all I'm saying is that a "goddess" has a very different connotation than a "god." for a woman to call herself a "goddess" of something, it means she brings her own particular flair to something.

Check out the "ex at the DZ" thread in the women's forum... another example in the poll there... one of the choices includes something to the effect of "Fly like the Goddess you are!"

Also, I feel that personal issues with someone's username belong in private messages, rather than the public forum, and even then, there's no excuse for rudeness.

OK, I haven't posted anything about it because I have a life outside of DZ.com and in fact, I was just looking to catch up before I leave to go and jump...I wont be back until Monday to defend myself...Any ways, I do have to say, that my name is a girl power thing like Nightingale said, and plus I am hot and I do freefly and yes I ave picked it up pretty quickly...not perfect by any means, but have the basics down and that is due to awesome coaching and jumping with Amy C., Omar, Jeffro, Dusty, TJ, Stephan and many others. Besides I know I am still just a fetus in this sport compared to Omar. I like to joke around and have a good time.

On another note, I do have to ask why this thread didn't get locked, it seems very hurtful not only to my self... well really I don't care, but to Seb, because this has taken over his thread and that is not fair....

So to put back on topic, Seb I also now want a shirt that says FreeflyGoddess: a sate of being hypoxic too often

It's a shame. Ron's wanting to talk about the "100 jump wonder" syndrome, and unforetunately used the screen name thing to bring it up. Clearly, he's right about his issue, it's more and more common. As far as the screen name thing, I don't think he's even addressing that other than how it 'could be' used to reflect on the first issue. But we keep getting sidetracked trying to defend the non-issue. The initial offender was cleanly chastised and he's gone away for a while.

anyone want to note the increase in 'wonder jumpers' lately. I think it hasn't increased, it's just more and more annoying as we get more experience and have more to share.

The trick is, only help those that want to be helped. The others will get the hint and start listening eventually. (Right now I'm about 50% listen and 50% teach depending on who's around.)

awe but see the whole point is I think it is funny that people are offended buy my self esteem. It is equally funny that people seem to think I care. If you know me then you know what kind of person I am. This is just online fun and that is all. I am not offended by any of this, I think it is funny.... However, I am offended by him not PMing me and just hijacking someones thread and it not getting locked. I also feel that if it does get lock Seb can reopen the same thread and hopefully no one else will hijack it.

Oh yes I do agree with that... I ask for all the help I can get. I may get a little angry at first because it hurts my feelings that I am fing up..nothing to do with the person telling me, but I do listen to what they say and I do follow....well except in one case, but I obviouslly knew what I was and was not ready for...don't ask cause I wont tell and besides it is way over anyways...

Ok, nobody had a "real" issue with the name. If you go through look at all the 12:45 posts this morning made by one person, they are all a little rude. That is what is going on. People are responding to that content and attitude.

Everyone else is comfortable with her ID. A fun expression of identity. People (plural) aren't having a problem with it. One person is. This is a sport where people paint themselves blue and fly around on pool toys. Maybe the person with the problem needs to lighten up.

On a side note, your intenseness usually serves a good purpose (safety). You and I have had conversations, and I generally support you. You know that.
