First Law of Thermodynamics
The first law of thermodynamics is the application of the conservation of energy principle to heat and thermodynamic processes:
The first law makes use of the key concepts of internal energy, heat, and system work. It is used extensively in the discussion of heat engines.
Whats all that got to do with The Matrix??
"Find out just what any people will quietly submit to and you have found out the exact measure of injustice and wrong which will be imposed upon them."

Right. The Matrix is powered by humans. And the Matrix keeps the humans alive. Perpetual motion machine, anyone?

I'm still lost indyz please explain this in more detail.

But isn't Xion and the whole machines keeping the humans alive just another sub-routine to keep The One happy?

perpetual motion, something that just keeps its self going, forever, with no intereference from another source, it's not possible because there is always energy lost in movement, or heat, and something has to replenish that lost energy (i.e. and outside source, battery change, solar power etc).

I understood that part I wanted to know how this fits in the movie? It's not a perpetual motion machine because the power source (humans) have to be replaced.. etc.. etc.. someone or something is intervening in the process.Quoteperpetual motion, something that just keeps its self going, forever, with no intereference from another source, it's not possible because there is always energy lost in movement, or heat, and something has to replenish that lost energy (i.e. and outside source, battery change, solar power etc).

QuoteI was thinking more along the lines of the first law of thermodynamics.
OF COURSE THE 1ST LAW OF thermodynamics....

I liked the first one the 2nd and 3rd really sucked. I don't think they really continued the story they started with.
IMHO, if you didn't like the 2nd and especially the 3rd movie, but you loved the first...well, then you're only viewing the movie on the surface. Engage your brain and actually try to figure the movies out. There's a lot of debate in the geek world right now about different aspects of the movie, why and how.
I'm just tired of people trashing the movies because they don't understand them.

You are making the assumption that "laws of physics" are actually laws that hold true in other dimensions of existence. How could you.

Agreed.
However, I was a little let down in the third movie, because many of the mythological allusions introduced in the second were either muddled or forgotten in the third.
I think that maybe the Bros. made a couple of movies over their own heads in 1 and 2, and couldn't keep up the intellectual pace with 3. Either that, or their characters were so well developed in their own heads that they did not develop them well enough in the films for even an attentive, informed, intelligent viewer to fully appreciate the depth of their vision. Either way, I left the third one with far too many unanswered questions from a pure plot line point of view, and even more from a character development point of view.
I still say they are great movies. But after the first two, I was disappointed that the third did not blow me away again.

QuoteNo interest at all in seeing the third one...The Matrix Sucks.
I went to the premier here, in Puerto Rico, and my husband and I left the theatre because we were watching an old chinese badly dubbed movie.
What I mean by this is that the movie wasn`t sync. When Neo talked no sound would come out, but when another character would talk, Neo`s voice would come out. A mess!
What is this?
I mean, I pay to go to the movies and expect a good show. Don`t you?
I`m so disapointed.
The Caribbean Cinemas` manager gave us a raincheck. We have until the 15 to see The Matrix.
