gulaz 1 #1 November 9, 2003 Just did my first (3) jumps on my own main (an Ovni 160... F-111 canopy made by Parachutes Canada). It was great (still waiting on getting the rest of my rig working). The guy that jumped it a few times before me said that it opened really quick, so I got a bigger slider put on it, and rolled the nose when I did my first one... oops. Here was my opening pull->look up->check altitude-> look up again-> check altitude-> look up again, think about how pretty the parachute is->look down->reach for handles->then it finished opening (1000 ft later). I got it figured out now though . Landings are fun, its a good thing theres snow on the ground... I would have grass stains on the ass of my jumpsuit along with rocks and sticks if there wasnt
 fool 0 #2 November 9, 2003 well, good stuff, and may I be the first to say.... and you knew this was coming... and if people at your dz haven't said it already, you might reconsider your dz....
 gulaz 1 #9 November 9, 2003 After the first jump, I didnt roll the nose, and it sniveled less (but still for too long) and then I packed it with the nose practically poking out the back of the cigar roll, and it was better. Im going to talk to some more people about it, but im thinking that before the slider was changed (I never jumped it before, just heard that it slammed) maybe it just wasnt packed well. Who knows
 DeNReN 0 #10 November 9, 2003 One mans slam is anothers perfect opening.....how far did u go with the slider change? And for James who never comes out anymore - perfect weather and I got 4 jumps in before I had to leave. Yes, beer, but not next weekend...I'm not out. Where were you? Up for jumping on Monday?
