How far away is your dz?

Recommended Posts

Wow, which one?
The one I trained at, 35 miles.
The one I finished training at, 600 miles.
The one I jump at local now, 45 miles.
The one I still have 3 jumps on the books at, 255 miles.
Longest distance from home to a logged jump in my logbook, 1340 miles.
Longest distance from home to a dz and not been able to jump, 2072 miles.

Plenty more where those came from. :)

Know any pilots? 32statute miles! And it still sucks!!!

At least your town is on the same highway as the DZ. My drive is a solid 45 minutes, no matter which way I go.

Mine is just 8 miles from my front door.. and we fly over my house all the time as we climb to jump altitude:)
The other DZ the one with the year round turbine... is about 2 hours thru Seattle Traffic... so I pass when its cloudy and can't get full altitude.

About 70K, takes about an hour.
Not too bad though, it a nice drive, peaceful, no traffic. The way back is death though, through the country its a wonder how I haven't dozed off and put my car through a field, a combine, or someone's chicken coop.
Not to mention all the drunkin country drivers you meet swerving all over the road. And forgetting abouy their hight brams. Its ok, I don't need to see where I'm going.

My drive takes me about an hour forty-five. Yes, I speed to get there, don't you?

I believe i still have money on account at Perris which is all the way across the US from me but very close to home in my heart.

The DZ where I learned to skydive is 10540 miles (16963 km or 9160 nautical miles) from my current home DZ as the crow flies... but from where I now live to where I now skydive, it only takes an hour by car. I had to move all the way to Africa for that kind of convenience!
