lummy 4 #6 October 13, 2003 QuoteExactly four dollars and ninety nine cents. I think you're confused with what you think a cashier should be paid... Wind tunnels are more like $20 or so (adjusted for cost of living expenses of course)I promise not to TP Davis under canopy.. My tour guide mentioned several times about what wire was going where and why. Even something about 'moon walking'... ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
ltdiver 3 #14 October 13, 2003 Quotenope but it will keep that parking lot well swept. Just don't expose teeth when you smile in the tunnel. Anyone who's jumped at Jean, NV's DZ knows how powdery thick that dust is there. Well, the dirt under the tunnel is just that way, only worse. I really wonder about that. ltdiver Don't tell me the sky's the limit when there are footprints on the moon
mouth 0 #15 October 13, 2003 At the tunnel in Orlando if it is raining outside it rains inside so I'm sure anything outside will basically be inside. base698 19 #20 October 13, 2003 I think it would cost about $220 an hour (just for electricity) to operate. Its not as bad as some manufacturing plants I've heard about.

turtlespeed 221 #23 October 13, 2003 Quoteominous looking... anyone know roughly what it costs to build a state of the art tunnel from the ground up? That would all depend on if it had to be a union job or not. Add at least 30% in cost to be able to afford a union. 2.0 mil is now 2.6 mil QuoteAmong full-time workers, union members' median weekly earnings were $672, compared with $516 for non-union workers Union Wages And if they don't like what they are having to do, they don't do it, and you don't meet your schedule. Just try to replace them if that happens. Heh..you will never open for buisness. Aside all that, my best guess would have to be 2.8 million plus, depending on the saftey measures included, and the finishes selected for the offices and such. That's without looking at the plans or doing any calculations. (Edited to add: Asuming there is little or no union labor.)I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
Aviatrr 0 #24 October 13, 2003 QuoteI assumed kilowatt cost to be something given some figures I found online and multiplied by the power of the new tunnel on skyventure.com/investor. Based on the price for energy at my home here in Orlando(don't know if the business price for energy would be more or less), I came up with under $100 an hour for 1352kw/hr(the highest power draw on the chart). It's about 7 cents per kw/hr here, including all taxes. Mike
