What's needed is a 20 mile "no drive zone" surrounding the President at all times, just like the "no fly zone" he has.... The only sure way to survive a canopy collision is not to have one. That's a little much, but maybe Bush could just park out in the middle of I-55 for an hour while he gets a haircut. . . =(_8^(1)

Find a nice 20-mile radius uninhabited zone, say in the middle of a desert somewhere, and build him a nice big palace. He can stay there all he likes, bothering nobody. He can be king of the desert and all the lizards will bow to him. The rest of us can get on with our lives. First Class Citizen Twice Over

rehmwa 2 #8 November 2, 2003 Good idea, all the politicians - on both sides transported to some remote location. By the way, why did she snap? was it from the security arrangements? was it entirely unrelated to the Pres being there? (and by the way endangering her kids) nut job ... AndyMan 7 #9 November 2, 2003 QuoteWell, I certainly would have expected something at least along the lines of a -1- block radius. I disagree. I think people are starting to get pretty frustrated at how essentially entire cities shut down whenever the president wants to go to some campaign rally. I think cities are starting to get to the point where they're requesting the president not come, because of the disruptions he causes. _Am__ You put the fun in "funnel" - craichead. narcimund 0 #10 November 2, 2003 Portland Oregon, for instance, is demanding Bush pay the tab for several million dollars in police overtime for Bush's recent fundraiser. Bush is refusing, of course. If I remember right, Bush raised somewhat less than the cost of the police protection. I'd rather he'd just extorted the smaller amount from the city government and stayed on the east coast. Everyone would win. First Class Citizen Twice Over
vonSanta 0 #11 November 2, 2003 It's amazing to watch American presidents. They're paid to lead the country yet appear to spend more of their time doing fund raising and similar things. Guess that's what happens when big money enters politics. I'd be pissed about it though - he's supposed to lead the country. He ain't being paid to raise money so he can maybe sit for another four years (and then help raise money for the next candidate from his party). Or maybe being president is kind of a part time job? kansasskydiver 0 #12 November 3, 2003 anyone else see this typo in there? "The president left the arena less than five minutes later from an exit about 40 years from the crash. " about 40 years from the crash? is this a valid report?<--- See look, pink dolphins DO exist!
projanska 0 #13 November 3, 2003 QuoteBy the way, why did she snap? was it from the security arrangements? was it entirely unrelated to the Pres being there? Apparently she was trying to locate her sister who attended the event.. so out of frustration, I'd guess, she wasn't trying to attack Bush. ___ "Ye Gods!"
