what would you do!

Recommended Posts

You and two of your coworkers have someone who is involved in ploting to blow up a school bus full of 65 school kids. You must get the information from that someone. What would you do to save the kids? How would you get the information from the unwilling person. That person is not A) in the United States B) is not from the United States C) is a known contact for a terror group

Depends on what country the person actually is in, what country the person intends on doing this and if it's mearly suspected or actually known that this is going to happen.

Generally speaking I think I wouldn't contact the US intelligence services unless it was either strongly suspected or actually known it would happen in the US. Involving the US intel services could actually make matters worse depending on how they wanted to play it.

Edited to add . . .

Ahhhh, now that I've read the article and know what you're talking about. If dealing with a known terrorist and a known threat it's very tempting to step over the line. The US doesn't allow for torture, but we have "allies" that will do it for us on a moments notice so we can keep our moral high ground.

To me, it really doesn't make any freekin' difference and a certain amount is going to happen even in the "best" of situations. I certainly don't want US playing down at that level, but "they" certainly don't play by our rules either so . . . publically, we have to chastise this guy, but I'll bet most folks privately think he was doing the right thing.

what if you were US intel. Say a deadline of less than 15 mins. What would you be willing to do to stop the plan?

Call the cops. It would suck to be screwing around with that guy while 65 kids die.

Fortunately, I'm not in that position, because I don't think I'd have the restraint to fire away from the guy.

Ever see RoboCop?

Taken from your scenario:
*You must get the information from that someone. How would you get the information from the unwilling person.
*the person is .. a known contact for a terror group

If my kid was on that bus, I would start blowing holes with my 9mm on his Tibia and go up from there.

Regarding the article... I would not have stood in between the gun and the person. I would have the information about the assination plot attempt on ME and person would lack one eardrum, maybe an ear.

After all else had failed, one gun shot nearby a guy with information during wartime? Huh, that aint all that was done over there. This one was written about.

The guy would still have ear trouble and my crew and myself would be alive.

OMG, I never noticed that... how true. That and the frog crack me up. Ever seen the "creature" in front of the Team's barracks on Coronado?

Do you know the story of the creature?

The good Col. West saved a lot of lives. He's a hero in my eyes. The boys in texas (Ft Hood) know how to make them talk. I think even Phillykev would agree. (I hope)

I have a question, is this technically torture? Or even abuse?

Psychological, definitely. Our own law enforcement uses psychology to varying degrees.

I guess I'm wondering how this equals unlawful force?
So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh
Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright
'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life
Make light!

Ask him how much he's getting paid for it, and if I can get in. :P
