DShiznit 0 #1 October 27, 2003 So I head up to Dallas to try to finish out AFF. (I live in Austin but get a killer deal by going up there - 3+ hr drive). So I get there the night before. Trusty old weather man says that Saturday was supposed to be shitty, Sunday was mostly sunny. I am planning on leaving Saturday night to jump all day Sunday. Well the front rolled in as predicted but never left. We didn't get to jump Sunday (up until 3:30) and was tired of waiting, so I decided to go ahead and just call it a weekend. The clouds seemed like they were never going to go away. I get about 15 miles away and look back. I swear to God, someone was waiting for me to leave. As soon as I turn around and get back, a plane was taking off. I tried to get my card back in, but it was going to be close. Well, to sum it up, had I never left, I would have been on the next load, but I lost it. That was the last one as well. All the driving and waiting for nothing. Bad weather sucks. :(

dterrick 0 #3 October 27, 2003 Ya? Well it's snowing in Winnipeg and the prediction is for up to 4-5 inches. We're closed for the season but for a few winter jumps (for those with severe withdrawal symptoms and no budget for a sun and sky holiday South Stateside). Rrrrgh, winter should NOT be here yet! That close to fininshing AFF? You'll make that drive NEXT weekend ... and the weekend after... and the weekend after, if that's what it takes. It will be worth the wait. Blue Skies PS: you now know the rule about not leaving until either the Beer light is on or the plane is flying and manifest is sold out! Quote Well, to sum it up, had I never left, I would have been on the next load, but I lost it. That was the last one as well. All the driving and waiting for nothing. Bad weather sucks. DShiznit 0 #4 October 27, 2003 I would, but next weekend is my anniversary, then I have something tying me up in College Station the weekend after. Since I didn't get to jump this weekend, and probably won't the next two, I'm going to go back a level. :( At least it's not snowing here!!!
thechad 0 #5 October 27, 2003 The weather there was great about a hour before sunset. On the last load the winds dropped to nothing. The Chad

And we can finish your AFF here too. Plus we have SDU coaches that can help you even further. I think, I'm not 100% positive, but I think we will have a turbine on the 6th or 7th of november.I'm not usually into the whole 3-way thing, but you got me a little excited with that. - Skymama BTR #1 / OTB^5 Official #2 / Hellfish #408 / VSCR #108/Tortuga/Orfun
DShiznit 0 #8 October 27, 2003 Yeah, but I'm getting it MUCH cheaper at SD Dallas than I can get it at Aggieland. I'd love to go there since it's a lot closer (for now), but there is no way you could price match..... or could you??? I'll do my next level there that weekend if you could do it for the same $$!!!!!
