Jayruss 0 #1 October 26, 2003 With all these fires in So Cal, and having had a good friend loose her house, what do you take with you knowing your house will burn? Let's just say you have a normal car, average size. I'd grab my baby (skydiving rig) CPU for the computer (leaving the accessories) clothes, a little of everything pictures off the walls of family. I have several OLD b/w of my parents and stuff around the house my file box reasonably that's about all that would fit in a standard car, in about a 30 minute evacuation time. BoostedXT 0 #3 October 26, 2003 My computer, my bikes, my camera equipment, and all of my photos. Little tip about photos. Kepp hard copy at your place for use, and negatives at another home. The chance of you and that person both losing house to fire is slim. JoeFor long as you live and high you fly and smiles you'll give and tears you'll cry and all that you touch and all that you see is all your life will ever be. Pedro Offers you his Protection. mouth 0 #4 October 26, 2003 By the time I got both kids and my rigs in the car with a few pictures the SUV would almost be full. Other important things would be my great grandmother's bible with all my family history in it, and my girls baby books. -- Hot Mama At least you know where you stand even if it is in a pile of shit. I have on more than one occasion, recovered the bodies of people trying to save material things during fire storm conditions. The one thing you cannot replace is human life. MissMae 0 #7 October 26, 2003 The birds w/o their cage because the cage has to be dis-assembled to get in my car, and the computers, cameras and pictures and rigs. But if I had time I'd start grabbing stuff that I couldn't replace or didn't want to (ie movies and furniture). I'm in So Cal now and flying back to Phoenix tonight, but what a mess here... I hope they get it stopped soon. take the time to appreciate the people around you.
