Which other sport?

Recommended Posts

I used to scuba dive and am still certified, but I really only was heavy into for one summer.

I've mountain biked a lot and still do off and on, so I just voted for mountain biking, since that was the question.

I've only done super small amatuer freeclimbing stuff as far as rock climbing, but I've noticed a lot of people around here posting about it. I'm sure a lot of the BASE jumpers would dig that kind of stuff, since they could have fun in both directions. ;)

I scuba as well, but think skydivers and rock climbers have more of a penchant for boozing and a much closer comeraderie. I do know a lot of scuba divers that booze pretty heavily.

Hey Kelli, didn't know you climbec, could I get join you and Derek for a climbing trip?

errrr.....english please :P

Does that mean you want to go out with us? If so, We usually go on Sundays outside somewhere. Clear Creak Canyon or Golden Cliffs, although last weekend we got so frustrated trying to figure out which climb was which we kind of gave up after accidently ending up on a 10b.

do we have any other choices? I'm really keen on Kite BoardingB|

I guess some things weren't included 'cos HH hasn't been approached by kite-boarders or skiers wanting to run similar sites....

Well lets see:

I Rock climb...been doing that for a number of years. The plates, pins and screws holding my right wrist and hand together slow me down though. I have done a 5.12 but nothing higher. They always kick my arse.

I have spent $8000 on biking stuff in the past 2 years. 2 new bikes...one Freeride/XC, and one pure downhill bike. nothing like a $5000, 40 pound, PINK bike between your legs at 45+mph through ther woods. Or riding ladder bridges, and dropping off rock cliffs 10+Ft in the air.

White water kayaked for a while....then I out grew my Mr. Clean and I never bothered to get another boat.

I scuba'd in my pool does that count?!

Allthough I love all of the options you posed, I would have to say that skiing is my secondary sport.

Of the choices you mentioned I would go for climbing.

Personally I've never even dreamed of having a climbing forum. I thought that is what climbing gyms are for: to hang out, chat, and wait till you can go out and get on the rock.

You might also consider which other sports already have well functioning online communities (i.e. not only where the interest is, but also where the need is).

I don't know about the others, but rockclimbing.com seems fairly well received in the general climbing world.
