billvon 3,049 #1 October 19, 2003 Rosa (Vanillaskygirl) made her 100th jump at Perris yesterday. We did an 8-way with her on her 99th; basically a round with her in the center. On her 100th she did a Mr. Bill with Big Andy. We were going to pie her but we couldn't get organized enough to send someone out for whipped cream, so we settled for drinking Skydiver Blonde all night. Congratulations Rosa! Thank you so much for the most fun time, everyone. Billvon, Dom , JP, Nick, Laurie, the other Bill, etc., etc. were ALL sooo amazing. Also, thank you for NOT throwing me in pools or pieing me! I was soooo paranoid right after my 100th... Well, that's twice that I have gone to Perris and had an incredibly wonderful time. OK, fine. You guys got me...I love Perris! I was ecstatic to be on a jump with so many DZ.commers. Billvon, Dom (dgskydive), Laurie, JP (Diablopilot), me, Bill? and the others. (Does anyone remember the other names?) I was a little self-conscious on my 99th because I had no lead on, and some people were probably more than double my weight. Thank God that we didn't turn points, or I may have floated away... Turning the round was waaaaay more fun for this jump since I am usually trying to turn points on skydives. It was sooo much fun and absoultely wonderful for me to watch everyone flying from where I was hanging out...like specatator skydiving~ LOL! Once again, thank you so much JP for videoing (both 99th and 100 on a 2 minute notice w/ NO shoes!) and Don? the other videot. Everyone was flying sooo beautifully. I loved it, even though I look sooo ridiculous in the video. I am screaming and making thumbs up gestures with my hands. LOL! Thank you, Nick (Racenic) for my first rodeo! It was so cool to see my friend, Kelly, going headdown, sitting and orbiting us! I felt like I was on a huge bird with your suit as the wings! Big Andy bought me an apple martini, and we toasted our jump. He said that although he has done about 12-13 Mr. Bills, only 1/2 were successful. He claims that our sunset Mr. Bill was the best that he's ever done! (We even had extra altitude.) It went so smoothly. After deployment, I climbed onto, then sat on his shoulders and looked at the sunset horizon. Unfortunately, I lost all feeling in my hands, but I put them in Andy's sleeves and blew on them, until I got back some feeling. I jumped off his shoulders at 5000 and pulled at approx. 3500. It was such an unusual feeling to fall and pick up momentum! Today, I was at Elsinore, and everyone was so happy for me. They were also a little miffed that I didn't share my hundredth with them there. I looove my Elsi peeps... Then, they threated to throw me in the "pool" or swoop pond and/or pie me. YIKES! LOL! I jumped only twice today, but saving $$$ is good, right? One jump was a 2-way w/ Jim, and RW friend, w/ a head jam exit and cogging, and the 2nd jump was a 3-way with 12-14 (?)pts. w/ Jim and an Elsinore LO, Marie. It was fun, and I was complimented on my flying by both the LO and Jim , then I went to dinner with some RW friends. What a lovely weekend. I feel so alive! Yeah, sometimes the dives that are the most fun are the ones where you turn two or three points and then just watch the sunset.
