abyumper 0 #2 October 18, 2003 kidneys give their hurt at the side of the "back". Back pain comes from either a degenerated disk or the spinal area. I have both at times. I take 1/2 a percodan, and in 15-20 minutes the pain is gone. biggest problem is getting a doctor who will give a script for percodan. If you cant get it, try and get one for percocette which has a tylenol base percodan has an aspirin base. taking too many percodan can become a Rush Limbaugh situation, and with the aspirin base, it thins your blood. If you bleed, you'll have a hard time stopping it. Vitamin "E" has the same effect as an anticoagulant. .
Gawain 0 #3 October 18, 2003 For some reason, this reminds me of a Dilbert comic I saw years ago, where Dogbert walks up behind Dilber (who's sitting at his computer)... Dogbert: Have you heard about the new Idaho Flu? At first you feel perfectly okay, then BAM, you die. *Dogbert begins to walk away* Dilber: Wait, I feel perfectly okay now! Dobert: *thought* My work here is done. So I try and I scream and I beg and I sigh Just to prove I'm alive, and it's alright 'Cause tonight there's a way I'll make light of my treacherous life Make light! skymama 37 #4 October 18, 2003 I think if you have a kidney infection that you'll have to get an antibiotic to get rid of it. It does hurt more on the sides of your back than in the middle. I had a really bad kidney infection once where I ended up having a high fever and was shaking because I let it go just thinking it was back pain. Make sure you see a doctor if pain pills don't help. She is Da Man, and you better not mess with Da Man, because she will lay some keepdown on you faster than, well, really fast. ~Billvon
12bhi 0 #5 October 18, 2003 The pain starts from the back and seems to radiate to the sides.I drank a bunch of cranberry juice and recently tried some vicodin for the pain but my condition remains status-Quo Guess it's time to go see the man....Thanx
airann 1 #6 October 18, 2003 Punch yourself in the back, both left and right of the spine. A doctor will place his hand over each kindey and 'tap' if it hurts, -there you go. If it hurts like HELL. Its not muscle pain. ~AirAnn~
Aviatrr 0 #7 October 19, 2003 If the pain is coming from the side of your back, it's probably kidney. If it's a sharp pain(or it can start as a dull ache, but will get worse) and is accompanied by some nausea, it's probably a kidney stone. Drink tons of water, and go see the doc ASAP if you think it is. It'll hurt like hell, so ask the doc for some pain meds....but the biggest thing is drink as much water as you can possibly stand, at all times, to help pass it quickly. abyumper 0 #8 October 19, 2003 I was thinki9ng about your thread last night after I had added to it, and felt bad becuise I left some important factors out, which you should know about. Percodan (oxycodone) is a little less addictive than oxyconten (Rush Limbaugh's candies), however, both can become a problem. You will get a mild "hihh" from percodan, so 1/2 per day is good for pain. Never take it for a "pick-me-up" If you have a kidney problem, it will either be a cold or infection, and both can be treated with anti-biotics. Should clear up in 10 days or so. Extensive use of any tylenol or tylenol based medication can cause damage to your liver....as bad as an alcoholic. As far as jum[ping goes, if you open your chute in a face to earth spread eagle, your bodyy will snap forward fast, and could aggrevate your back problem. I suggest you open in a feet down standing position, which allows your vertebrae not to snap like a whip. Its much easier on the back and wont add to your discomfort. The back problem could alsobe a pinched nerve, which is very painful, usually to th right or left of the spinal column. A nerve sometimes gets pinched between vetebrae and a disk, and the only way you might help to dislodge it is leaning slowly to the side opposite the pain several times...slowly. Dont allow anyone else access to your percodan...they will sell it on the drug market for real money. dont mix these meds with alcohol take care of yourself.....grab a blue sky and enjoy it to the full. all the best. 12bhi 0 #9 October 19, 2003 Thanks for the info...I'm going to go into the doctor tomorrow to get checked out..Perhaps get some better pain meds instead of my 5/500 vicodon. High millagram vicodin is about the only pain med I've had thus far, that actually works..Maybe I'll see if the doc can get me some percodan.Think I'll stay away from the oxyconten. I had a friend last year die from those... J

I suggest you open in a feet down standing position, which allows your vertebrae not to snap like a whip. but it will agrivate a compresion type injury. all the force will be directly on the spine at deplyment instead of transitioning from shoulders to back........... i wouldn't ever think of doing this to ease my opening shock and i had back surgery last year fir a extruded disc......... oh... my fix for harder openings was to get a parachute that never smacks me. my safire is great for this..... ______________________________________ "i have no reader's digest version"
abyumper 0 #11 October 20, 2003 I realize what you are referring to, but the compression is so minute, it wouldnt cause near as much discomfort or pain as a snap opening. I have always found, even when having some back pain, that opening feet down stretches your spine out and it becomes an aid to relieving back pain. I have even had a pinched nerve pop out when the vertebrae seem to relax as the spine stretches.....and very thankful for it too. A measure of a compression (fracture) problem is being ejected from a jet aircraft. THAT is when one gets extreme high compression on the spine. A parachutist in a standup opening wouldnt experience 1/1000th of that pressure
bmoore21184 0 #12 October 20, 2003 I had surgery about 3 years ago for my right kidney backing up because my uretur (sp) was blocked off causing my kidney to back up (like a clog making a sink overflow). ANYWAYS i noticed it first when i got this horrible back pain on the right side. I noticed that it didnt matter how i stretched my back it didnt effect the pain at all, thats when i figured it was something else besides a back muscle and went to the doc. I hope everything works out and nothing is wrong. Thats my 2 cents from my experience. B Moore 'Turbulence is a bitch'
